We had stayed at this property before, as a matter of fact several times. Nothing fancy, but the suite was priced right, and the place was clean. This past weekend we booked two rooms( so our friends could come up to). I purposely booked first floor suites, as there is no elevator. Upon arrival, I was told that can not be guaranteed, and they had only one first floor room. We arrived half an hour ahead of check in, to make sure we had what we wanted, so I know it wasn't rented out before we got there. The room and the entry smelled horrible. Moldy and musty, like a damp basement. The bed linens smelled the same way. The bathroom ceiling and walls had water stains on them. I was afraid to take off my shoes, for fear I would have gotten the moldy stink on my feet, but alas, my clothes stunk when we went for supper that night. I was totally embarrased when the friend next to me, asked if I had been in someones basement! Not sure if we just got a bad area, or if the summer traffic being so slow from the flooding, is keeping them from doing whatever needs to be done.
