“What a dump!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

What a dump! If you are a smoker, partier and gambler this might work for you, but if you have any wish for a quiet, simple stay, forget about it.

We were booked into this hotel for due to a work obligation. Asked for a non-smoking room at reservation time and were told that they could not guarantee it. Got there and were put into a non-smoking room but it still reeked of tobacco smoke. Through the night it got worse - the windows do not open and the air conditioning must pull smoke in from another location.

Spent all the first day in a smokey meeting room and got back to the hotel room to find a raging party going next door. That was it. We packed and left for a clean, non-smoking property in Omaha, 10 minutes away across the river.

And if you want to get to Omaha (or anywhere) the cab service they call for you (Casino Cab) is a 3 - 4 car operation that is slow and likely to have a smoking driver. A 30 minute wait for a cab is not unusual. It's way better to call a cab company from Omaha to come and get you.

The whole experience of being in this hotel was pathetic. It was like going back 30 years in time and NOT in a good way. I would never stay in a dump like this again.

And by the way --- if you activate 2 or more devices on the WiFi in the room, they charge you $12 for each one of them. I've never heard of that before. Unbelievable!!

Room Tip: Stay in Omaha! Avoid this like the plague.

“Great bargain with a good bed!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Check in was fast, efficient and very friendly. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the room and how nice everything was. The BED was GREAT! The gambling was just that a gamble, luckily we were too tired to spend much time in the casino or the "Total Rewards" price for the room would not have been a bargain. The only draw back we found was the Buffet. We have stayed at Hurrah's around the country and or stopped at them for their buffet and they have always been great...this one was not, the only "good" section was the salad bar and some of the lettuce was slightly wilted.

“Hidden gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

Looking for one weekday night near Omaha when we found this place online. Booking at the hotel's website yielded a rate lower than others, which is fine when you don't care about a pool or complimentary "continental" breakfast. Room was very nice, similar to Ameristar but much less $$$. Didn't notice any overt smoking smell, but they could use some more attention cleaning (some baseboards, doors, etc. were dirty or dusty). Beds were comfortable and view was pretty (even in winter). Casino was small but was close to rooms and service was fine. Food was adequate and relatively expensive for what you get -but since you're captive, there isn't much choice. Parking is free but you could be in for a hike. We'll stay again, especially if the others in the area won't be as generous in their discounts!

“Smoky!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2011

I go to Omaha on business regularly and I thought this may be a fun place to stay! I was excited until I entered the lobby and the smell of smoke was overwhelming. The lobby itself was lovely and the posters advertising the casino, restaurants, etc. seemed encouraging. Since I had gotten a non-smoking room, I wasn't too worried. However, upon entering my room, it too had a HEAVY smoke smell. My coworker had also gotten a non-smoking room and he said his was just as bad. On top of that, the room itself was dated and average at best.

By the time I got home the next day, my suitcase and clothes all smelled like smoke. My husband is a smoker so I consider myself fairly tolerant of the smell. So, trust me when I say, if smoke bothers you at all, do NOT stay here.
