“Service you expect but rarely receive”

This place treated us like we were the only guests they (they were packed!) and never made us feel like just another customer. Jackie and her staff did a wonderful job of making sure we felt wolcome and helped people find us (we were in the middle of a wedding week) when they came looking for us.
The night before we had stayed at a Marriot and while the amenities were obviously not as the same, the service was just as good and even more personal. We'll be visiting them again!

“What A Bungled-Up Operation”

When I arrived to check-in, the desk clerk notified me that the hotel had to "give up" my reservation because the c-card I used expired at the end of the month when I booked.
Why they didn't run it immediately is beyond me.

My beef is this. I called 1-day before my arrival to confirm the reservation and asked if my information was received properly. I should have known trouble was brewing because the woman I spoke with was terse and unfriendly. I gave her my Confirmation Number (which is a joke), but given her poor attitude she either, a) failed to review and/or understand my reservation, or b) didn't bother and only claimed to look it up. Either way, she made no mention about there being an issue.

On the day of my arrival, they said they attempted to contact me after they ran my card. Even if that's true, I find it baffling that they'd wait until the day of my arrival --while I'm up in the air-- to notify me of a problem. Their idea of a Confirmation Number is laughable. The only purpose it served here was to confirm that I DIDN’T have a reservation.

If you're considering the Daze Inn in Council Bluffs, IA, do yourself a big favor and move on.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We apologize that your experience was less than satisfying.
According to our hotel policy, when rooms are booked in advance a Credit Card payment is required. We process the credit cards to make sure it has enough balance to pay for the first night. room charges.
When a credit card is declined, as a courteousy we contact the guest. If the guest replies within a reasonable time we continue to hold the reservation. If not, we sell the room.

We have revisited the same policy with our Guest Service Agents and re-trained them on customer service.

Again, we apologize for the inconvenience. Please rest assured that we will do everything in our power to make it right and earn back your respect, trust and business.

“Pick another place”

The room was aweful the carpet was torn and puckered in spots, there was mold all in the shower. I didn't notice until the next morning when the blankets were off the bed that the box springs were full of stains most likely from dogs lifting their legs. I was afraid to look at the top mattress and just wanted to get out. The price of the room should have been lowered due to the condition of the room. We could hear people all night and dogs which we didn't realize was pet friendly.

Thank you for the comments. We apologize and want you to know that your feedback is extremely important to us.

When problems are reported during the stay, we make sure that a fix is provided. However, it is hard to fix problems when they are addressed after a guest stay.

We have made significant updates to this property ever since we took it over. We continue to do so as our brand also recommends updates to our amenities.

We have changed carpet in all rooms. Bathrooms have been repainted, hung new shower curtains and we continue to buy new bed spreads. We have also implemented a new cleaning policy that calls for bed spreads to be washed on weekly basis.

We hope to be service to you in the future.

“Convenient but unfriendly”

This hotel is very convenient to the casinos, just go under I-29 and you are at Harrah's. We needed to have a boarding pass printed for the next afternoon flight, but the hotel desk clerk was unwilling to help. We asked about a printer, and she indicated that the hotel provided Internet access throughout. Unfortunately, my printer just won't fit into my luggage. When I asked whether she would help us, she mumbled something about the manager being back 'maybe' in the morning, as this was a Saturday and the manager may / may not be available on Sunday morning.
We went across to Harrah's hotel, bellied up to their counter and the first desk clerk was more than willing to help print the boarding pass.
So, if you stay at Day's Inn, go over to Harrah's for your printing needs! (Just don't tell Harrah's where you are staying!)
Another concern was the television remote control. It was the cheapest knock-off ever, without a keypad to punch in a channel. Only an up/down scroll for the tv, and that was slow at best.
Carpet is worn / dirty. Hotel needs a good carpet cleaner.

Thank yoe for taking the time out of your schudule to [provide your comments regarding your stay at our hotel. Please know that your feedback is extremely valuable to us.We are looking in to solving the problem of the computer printer being in the office because for security prepossesses we must keep office locked at night.In regardes to the remotes we are looking in to new remotes and have replaced all carpets in rooms.We continuously train our staff and make sure they excel our service promise that focuses on guest service.

“Average Hotel”

This is an older hotel that has been kept very clean. You can tell when driving up to the hotel that they have tried to keep appearances neat. At check-in, the desk clerk asked for my credit card and drivers license (no problem). He then started to the photocopier which I informed him that he did not have my permission to photocopy my driver's license. I'm leary of this because of identity theft. He complied with my request. Rooms and bathrooms were clean. Beds were older double beds. Most hotels have updated to queen beds. Rooms were not real roomy but comfortable as we were attending the college world series and knew we would not be at the hotel much. Except for doors banging in the hallway, quiet hotel even though by the interstate. You don't hear the interstate noise. Overall, good hotel for the price especially if not spending a lot of time in your hotel room.
