We took a 3 day mini vacation and drove 2.5 hrs south to spend some time in Omaha. After much researching we decided to stay across the river, in Council Bluffs. It was only 3 miles from the zoo and was decent price using our government discount. The hotel was connected to a Holiday in and Ameristar Casino (which I didn't know at the time of booking) what we found out from another guest is that we could use the facilities at BOTH hotels and there was a tunnel that ran through and to the casino. We utilized this and had a great dinner buffet. The fitness area was well cleaned and had free weights with 2 treadmills and a Xtrainer. The other hotel's fitness area had an all in one machine and sauna. We enjoyed our hotels pool and hot tub. The bathroom's fan did not work but otherwise clean. The beds weren't Hampton Comfy. I woke with a back ache both days. Not much of a room with a view. We had a view of the river though. There was alot of construction and half of the parking lot was blocked off at night. The lady that was taking care of the complimentary breakfast area ( i wish i got her name) was super helpful and gave us brocheres to the local family hotspots. She also informed us the hotel had a daycare on site. Unfortunately this was given to us the morning we were heading out, but it was great to have that help!
Overall the hotel was good. The location was great as far as being close to the zoo and children's museum. (and casino's for the night life!) I would stay again.

This property is located next to the Holiday Inn, which is next to the Ameristar Casino and hotel. Didnt feel like paying $200 to stay at Ameristar so stayed here for $110. Decent Hotel, no complaints there. Nice flat screen TV's in rooms. You can walk indoors clear from Hampton through Holiday Inn over to Ameristar which is nice. We had our 20 month old with us and we were able to walk over to Ameristar where they have a Kids Quest day care you can leave children at which allowed us to go gambling for a couple hours which was nice. Pool is pretty ordinary but we did not use it. Right on the river so nice view if you get a river side room. Breakfast is good, cold and hot food. Because there is the casino and places to eat at Ameristar really no need to leave the hotel to find stuff to do which is nice.

My wife and I stayed at the Hampton Inn Council Bluffs on way home from Colorado Springs. This Hampton Inn, while not outstanding, was very nice for our one night. The staff was friendly and we got the good night's sleep that we have come to expect from the Hampton Inns.

Loved our room, the staff was nice, pool was nice, complimentary breakfast was very good!! Will definitely be going back :)
