Stayed on our way through to Illinois after spending time in Mo. with family over Thanksgiving. Given room on first floor because traveling with a pet. Bathroom was not clean, door lock broken, ice machine broken just to name a few. No elevator to get to the rest of the hotel which made it difficult since traveling with a mother in a wheelchair. This floor was not guest friendly at all !! Would not stay again.

We stayed at this hotel while in town for a University of Iowa football game. Very convenient location just off the interstate, and a short drive to campus. Average in every regard, and that is not necessarily a bad thing. Somewhat dated, but clean and decent.

I booked the stay because I was going to the Michigan-Iowa game this past weekend. The price was not great, but in a small college town that has a handful of home football games a year, I understood. Our suite was about $300 a night after fees. We did a suite because we brought our 18 month old daughter.

Crib was available upon request at check in, so it wasn't guraranteed so we brought our own. The one they offered was a traditional, old-school wooden crib. They said pack-n-play's tended to get stolen so they didn't usually have those.

The room was very nice with micro, fridge, two HDTVs and a wet bar area. We were able to have friends to our room to watch a game Sat night.

The staff was friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was good too. The only real problem was the noise level. This hotel has about the thinnest walls of any hotel or motel I've ever stayed in. We had a baby crying next to us, people stomping above and below us and even across the hall it seemed we could hear what was going on. Luckily our daughter ignored it all, but I couldn't and slept poorly.

The location is great for visiting the U, but don't expect to get a great night's sleep if there's a game that weekend

I travel to Iowa City often for business. Holiday Inn is easily accessable to the interstate and has a nice lounge with good food and a nice pool. Also several area restaurants within minutes.
