I was nervous about this hotel at first--it was my first time as a solo traveler and the reviews were not great. But upon arriving at the Days Inn I was pleasantly surprised.

The person at the front desk was highly accommodating, even putting me in a room closer to the wireless router so that I would get a good internet connection. The room was small but clean, with everything that mattered in proper order. Breakfast was good and had a decent variety. The staff was personable and helpful.

The hotel was a short walk/cheap taxi from the University of Iowa Medical School campus (which is why I was there), which was in turn a short walk from the centre of town. Plenty of eateries nearby offered a range of food types, from Chinese to Indian to Mexican and generic American.

We arrived very late and I was happy to have a bed. The room was a good size. We were on the second floor and there wasn't an elevator so lugging up the suitcases was a challenge. The carpet seemed dirty and the room paint seemed chipped and in poor shape. The bathroom seemed clean enough but I put a towel on the floor by the bed because it seemed really gross to me. The bed wasn't particularly comfortable. But...the rate was good. I guess we paid for what we got. The rest of the trip we stayed in Best Western and they were a big upgrade!

Booked room 2 months in advance! Didn't read reviews-was my first mistake. We were in town for State Softball Tournamnet and another team from our area also booked this hotel. Thought it would be fun having all of us together-WRONG! The other team left-got their money back & went down the road to another hotel. We should have done the same. I booked all the rooms together. When we arrived in town couldn't check in until later that afternoon. Hotel staff was very friendly and accomodated all of us. The rooms were I would have to say the WORST I had ever stayed in. First the room odor was almost unbearable, the bathroom smelled even worse, carpet was wet-possibly moldy, door wouldnt shut all the way-locked but did not feel safe! The bathroom had a square of the wall that was cut out and then put back in with some screws? The beds were not comfortable, lights on the wall by the beds did not work, no microwave and there was no clock? We went for breakfast on Sunday morning-the kitchen area was very dirty, food on the floor=holes in some of the styrofoam cups had holes in them so when a customer went to pour orange juice in it -it leaked all over the floor-on the counter-the front desk clerk did nothing. Overall I guess we got what we payed for. Will NEVER EVER stay at a Days inn AGAIN!

My Husband & I and allot of friends stayed at this dump Sat. into Sun. We had 8 rooms we were down in Coralville for a softball tournement. We first came to the hotel about noon said we could not check in the rooms were not clean yet . So we came back after 5pm was able to check in then the Desk cClerk that was working was nice got us all our rooms. we when got out rooms they were everywere in the place not close together and we booked them the same day asking for them to be together . Anyway to the point we got to you rooms the ROOMS STUNK LIKE SOME BAD ODORS. all of them did some had Microwaves some did not some rooms were cold our Air did not work very well at all .. And some people that were staying next to one of friends room had her come to there room and see mold in that room . So what the workers/owners I guess if that is what you wanted to call them went into that room Spray painted over and then left and the people were expected to stay in it . and when they refused they got there money back and went somewhere else then the workers came in vaccumed and rented the same room out 10mins later . But on one friends room was next to that room and the paint fumes came in there room . The second people that did take that room ended up leaving as well . The next day went to eat breakfast and that part of the room was a messy area never once did the front desk person come over to see if anything need refilled or wiped off .......... I and I know all my friends weill never ever stay at this DUP again or any Days Inn at any town .......... Very Disapointed with this place
