Do not waste your time, money, or safety. We were quite suprised and dissapointed with this hotel. The lobby smelled like urine, the rooms also smelled and were filthy. We couldn't use any of the towels because they were stained and had hair all over them. To top it off, there were "guest" of the hotel out in the parking lot using drugs and running a street scam. Do yourself a favor and choose another hotel.

We picked this motel because my son was having surgery in the morning and it was very close to the hospital and a very good price. I have never stayed at a Days Inn before but had never heard anything bad about it so I booked a room without checking the reviews, big mistake! When we pulled up and I went into to check in and very strange man was just sitting there starring at me the whole time, the desk clerk was very weird as well and it reminded me of the movie Psyco, I was freaked out. We went to our room and looked around and the walls had dirt and mud on them like someone had shoes on and hed them resting on the wall, the tv stand was the same way. The remote didnt have ay batterys in it, the light switch didnt work the shower had mold around the calking and the water kept getting scalding hot and then freezing cold. The fridge was a little metal fridge that looked like a college fridge from the 80's it was dented and rusted at the dents. The carpet was stained really bad and the mirror looked like someone smeared their dirty hand across it when it was wet. The only good thing about this room was the beds were comfortable. I bring my own bedding with us but the sheets did look clean. Never again will I stay somewhere without checking the reviews!!!

I was nervous about this hotel at first--it was my first time as a solo traveler and the reviews were not great. But upon arriving at the Days Inn I was pleasantly surprised.

The person at the front desk was highly accommodating, even putting me in a room closer to the wireless router so that I would get a good internet connection. The room was small but clean, with everything that mattered in proper order. Breakfast was good and had a decent variety. The staff was personable and helpful.

The hotel was a short walk/cheap taxi from the University of Iowa Medical School campus (which is why I was there), which was in turn a short walk from the centre of town. Plenty of eateries nearby offered a range of food types, from Chinese to Indian to Mexican and generic American.

We arrived very late and I was happy to have a bed. The room was a good size. We were on the second floor and there wasn't an elevator so lugging up the suitcases was a challenge. The carpet seemed dirty and the room paint seemed chipped and in poor shape. The bathroom seemed clean enough but I put a towel on the floor by the bed because it seemed really gross to me. The bed wasn't particularly comfortable. But...the rate was good. I guess we paid for what we got. The rest of the trip we stayed in Best Western and they were a big upgrade!
