“A Motel That Makes An Early Morning Start Easy”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2010

From the looks of the motel, it was once a "Holiday Inn" that had balcony access to all the rooms. It's now enclosed, so the windows that once looked out on the parking lot now look out on to a hall.

This motel has strange moldy smells, discolored walls, dirty curtains, and leaking faucets--everything needed to get you on the road early in the morning.

The desk clerk was very nice.

“A Recycled Trash Can”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2010

This is a recycled hotel that used to have exterior access to each room. This Days Inn put a facade on the front, but the rooms still have huge windows which face out; slightly strange because you don't want people looking into your room from the hallway, but then you don't have any natural day light or fresh air. At all. Which is the reason why all six of us got sick from the three rooms that we stayed in. Walking into the room smelled like formaldehyde and mold. Sure enough after two days we were all sick. The hotel is a bit of a science project: dust and debris sort of everywhere, holes in walls in ceiling, and all of this isn't new... it's all old. This hotel also has the most inconsiderate housekeeping staff. They banged on our door before 830am while we were sleeping, came into the room, and finally after seeing us in bed left. This didn't keep them though from making an incredible racket outside our room. These walls and hallway are paper thin and impossible to have a silent rest. The only benefit to the trip was they let us use the Holiday Inn pool across the parking lot. If you value health, stay away from this one dear travelers.

“Been in better, been in worse”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2010

This is an older hotel that I am guessing originally had exterior doors and they enclosed it at some time. The room was relatively clean but in general was dark/musty smelling. There were no windows that could be opened to let in fresh air. There was about a two inch ledge/step to get into the room and at least one step or more at all the entry doors that I could see so I don't know how accessable this would be to someone in a wheelchair. The bed felt like it was pretty old and could use a new mattress. I like a cool/cold room and could not get the temp to go below 72 degrees. However, this hotel was pretty inexpensive. If you don't need the newest and the fanciest, this hotel is okay, just not great.

“This facility has more cons than pros”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2010

We booked 6 rooms thru Expedia 10 weeks in advance to insure we god what we needed. We arrived and were told that we could not get all adjoining rooms? What? With10 weeks notice? We were given 3 adjoining rooms, 1 room 3 rooms away on the same corridor, 1 room 5 rooms away on another corridor, and 1 room on a different floor completly. The second day we were there we found out that there were two rooms left empty the two days were were there that could have been used to connect all 6 of our rooms. The rooms were clean, but you couldn't see much in a dungeon. The lighting was terrible. For a 60+/- room facility, you would expect more than 5 chairs and 3 small round tables in the breakfast area. The parking lot was a mess, but I do not blame that on the staff. there was a visiting college football team/fans staying at our hotel and the Holiday Inn next door. You could tell that some of the trash was deliberatly put where it was. Hotel visitors were helping clean it up.

“Very nice budget hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2010

I stayed in that hotel while on visit to Waterloo. This hotel is very good budget hotel, clean and having continental breakfast. It also provides airport pickup and drop. That's a big advantage.
