“Horror Show”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

Was in town for a one night stay. I'm glad I used Marriott points because spending cash here would have been hurtful.

The place is a victim of owner neglect. From stepping on the elevator, which looks like it's a construction site, to entering a moldy-smelling room, to the aroma which pervades the entire 3rd floor - the place is just a mess.

The staff, which is the only saving grace here, was kind enough to find me a room without aroma after three tries. The suite was clean and nice -- but as soon as the door opens -- that odor comes rushing through. Breakfast was the standard microwave biscuit, fruit, yogurt and waffles.

I don't know how the other hotels in town are compared to this -- but this is just not the best you're going to find.

Room Tip: If you do stay here -- ask for a suite - or buy the upgraded rate - at least it was clean.

Thank you for taking your time to complete a review. I do apologize that we did not meet your expectations. We are currently awaiting our renovation which will include refinishing the elevator to give it a new updated look along with all guest rooms. I have also spoken with our executive housekeeper of the issues you occured during your stay and we have been paying close attention to remove any odor throughout the building. We would love nothing more than the chance to give you a pleasant, worry-free stay the next time you come to visit our area. I thank you again for your time and hope you enjoy your day!

“Just Okay”

I tried to book the nearby Comfort Suites but they were filled so I ended up here. Everything was just "okay". It's really so easy to add a few features and be exceptional. Room was okay, neighborhood setting was just okay, front desk help on check-in was just okay. Breakfast buffet was lacking variety seen at comparable price point hotels.

My major beefs were the following....when asking for nearby restaurants, front desk could name only two and had little in the way of handouts or helpful directions. After heading out in search of dinner there were actually 15 choices. A handout with recommendations and exact directions would have been so much more helpful.

Plus I also left an electric razor in the room. Hotel never called to say they had found this.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I do apologize that your stay did not meet and exceed your expectations. We will be going through a renovation this spring to give the hotel a fresh new look. We have also placed local restaurant menus at the front desk along with directions on how to reach each of these destinations. We would like the opportunity to provide you with a more satisfying stay and hope you will give us that chance. Again thank you for the review and have a wonderful day!

“Great stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

Everything was great...from check in to check out. Room was clean and smelled fresh. Breakfast had a really nice selection and they had it ready early for early travelers like us. We were pleased with the entire stay!

“Nice room, nice staff.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2011

Stayed at this Fairfield Inn during Burlington Steamboat Days. The staff was very courteous. Talked us thru all of the details of the hotel. Offered us bottled water for being rewards members. Enjoyed our stay. We will be staying there again next year.

“Avoid at all cost!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 July 2011

I checked in at 11pm and was given a room. The bathroom had used bars of soap and half empty bottles of shampoo in the shower. Upon further inspection of the room, we pulled back both sets of sheets to find one set had dirt on them as if someone had been walking on them and the other bed had some type of gritty substance on the bed. I complained to the front desk and I was given a new room. The new room had a do no disturb sign on the handle but I went in anyways, the room was filthy. Either someone was already staying in that room or it had never been cleaned, either way, I was getting mad. I complained again and they moved me to a third room. This third room was clean but it was right by the pool and it was damp, muggy, and just really humid and you could smell the damp, moist air. The only thing they did for me was take $5 off of my bill

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else.

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience at our hotel. We pride ourselves on providing each guest with a clean room and exceptional customer service and in your experience we failed. I have shared this opportunity with the Head Housekeeper as well as the Front Desk Manager to allow them to speak with all involved. We would love an opportunity to make it right with you and provide you with an exceptional stay.
Thank you and enjoy your day.
