“Magnificent!”

This is a magnificent property in a wonderful, quiet, out-of-the-way little town. The B&B itself has been meticulously and lovingly restored and the owners did an amazing job of pretty much rebuilding this majestic property to look like what it must have been like when it was first built.

And the proprietors were wonderful, charming, engaging, and funny - but also great at just staying out of your way and just letting you 'be'.

Breakfast the next morning was wonderful as well. We can't say enough about this charming little getaway spot. We'll be back!

Room Tip: The Eugenia room has great views, an original brass tub, a lovely fireplace that we made good use of...

The Schenck Mansion is amazing! The owners Jerry & Lisa are wonderful people. Lisa made us feel right at home and welcomed us to explore the mansion. We stayed in the Wiesman Room (the only room on the first floor) and it was beautiful! (Anyone who has trouble with stairs should request this room.) It has a large, comfy, king-sized canopy bed, small patio, sitting area, and original copper tub. (The tub/shower may be difficult to get in to/out of for those who are unsteady on their feet but don't let that stop you!) I don't know about the upstairs rooms but our room was very quiet with only a little floor creaking above us and slight TV noise from above... certainly nothing more than ordinary hotel noises.
The entire home has been renovated so it feels brand new... as if you were walking in the door when it was first built. It is the cleanest place I have ever stayed.
We got to see all of the rooms and not one of them was disappointing! The prices are VERY reasonable (around $100/night) for the luxury you will experience. The mansion is perfect for couples, a group of girl friends, and solo. I think small families with well-behaved children would be ok (and children would actually enjoy all the stairs and different rooms). We are already making plans to visit again and I would love to return for a girls' trip with my mom, as well.
I can not say enough wonderful things about Lisa and her beautiful home! Do not hesitate to stay here... in fact, find an excuse to make a trip soon! You will not be disappointed!

Room Tip: The Wiesman Room is the only one on the first floor. Choose this room if you have problems with sta...

“Little amazed at the lack of mention of spirits”

My granddaughter and I stayed a couple years ago here. I had seen the beautiful home
on the internet but could not get accomodations for the weekend--so we stayed mid-week and were the only guests, My first clue was when my bank tellor asked me if we were in the haunted B&B. Turns out we were---lots of "previous residents" are still there. They are generally benign but made the viewing of a DVD impossible to watch after ll:00 pm---the machine would not stay on (we finished it in AM). Lisa, the owner, was apologetic. She is also very protective of those residents.

I would stay there again without qualms--but I would be careful who I accompanied me. My
granddaughter was scared enough that she refused to sleep in her own bed which I had
paid dearly for.

“The most divine & peaceful spot imaginable”

My mom and I stayed at the Schenck Mansion during a geneaology research trip. It was our first trip to Vevay. The house and grounds are amazing and the wonderful inn keeper, Lisa, has both a great affection for the history of the mansion as well as the family who built it. She and her husband have restored this incredible gem with a meticulous attention to detail. Lisa was an inexhaustable resource regarding all things Vevay. The town could not ask for a better ambassador! The stuffed french toast with fresh berries was my favorite breakfast and the small, private porch off the Wiseman room was a fabulous spot for reflection with a glass of local wine (I recommend the Black Jack). From the original copper bath tub to the story book gazebo, the Schenck Mansion is a treasure.

“Delightful in Every Way!”

This beautifully restored gem is not to be missed. Lisa and her husband have found what they were put on this earth to do- and they have done it with grace and elegance. With great thoughtfulness and attention to detail, not only have they brought the past to life, preserving a long lost way of life--but they have made more than a museum. They have created a remarkably relaxing getaway for reflection, leisure, healing, sequestering, cuddling, honeymooning and just Be-ing. Her breakfasts were devine, and nutritious--I didn't feel as if I was in danger of sugar overload. It was substantial enough to support a full morning of shopping or hiking-- and there is plenty of both in "The Fourth Coolest Small Town in America" We loved the town of Vevay. If Schenk Mansion is the jewel in the crown, Lisa and Jim must be the "royal couple"..
