Having had a positive experience at the Drury Inn in Cape Girardeau the night before, we headed for the Drury Inn in Terre Haute for New Year's Eve. We were doing a long road trip, and we knew we wanted a good night's sleep. We were impressed by Drury's commitment to preventing loud parties in the hotel during the hotel season, so we chose to stay at Drury again. The hotel was right off the highway and had a busy lobby and pool, but somehow the hotel seemed designed to minimize the noise. We went into our room and quickly realized the girls in the next room, with adjoining door, were getting ready for a night of partying. We didn't want the noise, and we didn't want the cigarette smoking taking place on a non-smoking floor. I headed downstairs to speak to the front desk manager. She was there in the hallway before the desk, and she spoke up and asked about my room before I had a chance to open my mouth. She really cared about my visit to the hotel. When I said it wasn't going to work because of the noisy neighbors, she didn't waste a minute reassigning my room. She was attentive, efficient, and understanding. I didn't envy her job that New Year's Eve, but I sure appreciated how much she wanted my stay to be a good one. I had no complaints about my new room, and my husband and I got a good night's sleep. I can't say enough about the attentive staff at the Drury Inn, and my room was just fine, everything I needed it to be. Breakfast was good and managed well in spite of the large number of people who seemed to have spent the night there. I'd stay at a Drury hotel again without a hesitation.
Room Tip: For a hotel right on the highway, I can't believe how quiet our room was.
