“Hotel has improved alot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2011

My friends and i stay at this hotel every year when we go to Covered Bridge. We notice that the hotel has gotten new carpet, beds and the rooms have been updated since our last visit. The staff is always friendly and go out of thier way to make sure we had no issues. Breakfast also they have added oatmeal and hot cocoa which was nice since it rained for 2 days. Rooms were very clean when we arrived and they cleaned them everyday so when we got back it was like we just checked in again. Will continue to stay at this property in the coming years.

“Sometimes you don't even get what you pay for.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 July 2011

First, let me say that the staff was very pleasant and seemed eager to please.

That being said, the motel itself was a dump. The furnishings were chintzy, worn and dirty. The WiFi was so poor that I wound up using the signal from an adjacent motel. As I saw written elsewhere, plan to sleep in your car.

On the positive side, nothing bit me.

“You get what you pay for”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 June 2011 via mobile

Listen.... If you pay $50-65 for a room and expect a ritz carrelton you are a moron. It's a nice place for $55 bucks. It is outdated and a little rough but there are two hotels behind it for $85-95 a night. Go stay there if you want nicer rooms for certain reasons. Overall I give it about a 3.5

“Sleep In Your Car”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2010

We booked this hotel because there were no other hotels available for the date we needed for a college visit. The room had the worst smell! I am a smoker, but prefer not to smoke indoors. This room smelled so bad! The room was in terrible need of a thorough cleaning! The dust and mold was out of control. The hair dryer didn't work. The electric outlets were not safe. I plugged in my cell phone to charge and the plug slid right out! I had to call the front desk for a hair dryer because the one in the room would not work. Their breakfast consists of toast, hard sweet rolls, and waffles that were made in a broken waffle maker. Watered down juices and some nasty, nasty coffee!
Stay anywhere, but NOT here!!!

“Horrible, dirty and rude”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2010

I stayed in the Econo Lodge for 3 weeks while in Terre Haute for work. My original plans had me staying here for 6 weeks, however, the room was so dirty and I felt so unsafe walking to and from my vehicle, I made plans to stay at a different hotel 3 weeks into my trip. My bath tub was filthy and not cleaned for the first 2 weeks of my trip. My sink was filthy, and leaked. My carpet was hardly ever swept. I ran out of toilet paper, toiletries, my coffee was never refilled and several nights I had to park around the block away from my room due to limited parking spaces. When I made arrangements to check out, I phoned the front desk to inform them that I would be checking out earlier than anticipated. They informed me that they would be raising my nightly rate because they had quoted me an "extended stay" rate and since I was checking out early, it didn't apply. I stayed 3 weeks so I'm not sure what constitutes an extended stay. I informed them that I was leaving due to the fact that the room was filthy. The lady I spoke to informed me that they have never received complaints about their cleaning staff and that I should have notified her when I checked in that I would need a varied cleaning schedule. I stated that I did not need a different cleaning schedule, I needed a person who would thoroughly clean my room. The conversation ended by me stating that fine, I would pay the increased rate just to be done w/ this hotel. I will NEVER stay here again.

I'm really sorry this gentleman feels this way but we clean the rooms daily and did not do anything to his room during his stay at his request. He was in town working third shift and ask that he was not to be disturb. We have cleaning staff here early in the morning to clean the rooms for the third shift workers but he declined every time we ask. We have just finished putting new carpet, beds, furniture and bedding in all rooms. I don't feel we could have done anything to make this guest happy, just wanted to be left alone.
