Springhill has great food in all but the location is the pits.

We made an overnight stay in Terre Haute for a college cross country meet. The property was spotless, the rooms large and comfortable (we had a King) and the breakfast more than adequate. I love motels where the design team really thinks things through. Our room had a separate sitting area so my spouse could sleep in while I made coffee and read the paper. Also, the shower/stool is in it's own room with a separate sink area nearby. Much easier to complete the morning ritual! The breakfast included waffles, eggs and sausage in addition to the usual bread and cereal. Nothing spectacular but fine for our needs. The only negatives: If you're an exercise buff, the location doesn't lend itself to a morning run, the exercise room is tiny, but has two decent treadmills. The pool is very small (think of a very large hot tub without the bubbles).

A late evening arrival was greeted with a friendly, courteous staff who didn't act like our late arrival was a bother. Hotel was spotless, tidy. The spacious king suite was very clean, with plenty of towels and pillows and the bed was very comfortable and very quiet. Had a wonderful good night's sleep and enjoyed a nice hot breakfast. The eggs and sausage were actually fresh and tasty, and we always love the fresh-made waffles.

We rode the elevator with a family with a couple of young daughters who were absolutely giddy about the beautiful room where they stayed and the great breakfast ("they even had bananas!") I would unquestionably recommend this hotel for business travel or for families.

Driving across country from the East Coast to the Midwest, we needed a place to lay our weary heads, and Terre Haute was a logical stopping point. I often stay at the adjacent Best Western because it's pet-friendly, and that's a nice place, but I found the SpringHill Suites using Yelp reviews and was happy to try a new place. We sprung for a jacuzzi room, and we really got a jacuzzi, not a bathtub with jets in it. The bed was super-comfortable and the suite included a refrigerator and sitting area. Perfectly comfortable and clean, and we had a lovely evening in Terre Haute--that's saying something! ;)
