“Morris Inn, Notre Dame, IN”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

We were given an overnight stay as a Christmas gift, otherwise, we may not have stayed here as it's fairly expensive, with no known discounts. This is an older hotel, situated right on the campus of Notre Dame, near the Hammes Bookstore. Although there was a hockey game, a women's basketball game and a mens basketball game all going on that weekend and the hotel parking lot was full, it was a really quite atmosphere inside the hotel. The doorman greeted us and inquired if we were there there to attend a game. Probably an easy guess since we were "decked" out in our fan attire! The hotel lobby was nice with a small library and sitting area. Sorin's restaurant with interesting murals of the campus during different eras was right off the lobby as well as a bar, which seemed low key even after a HUGE men's basketball win. The rooms were very clean, but small and older. Everything was nicely appointed, we had everything we wanted/needed. Breakfast was included the next morning which was great; again, it was quiet. We enjoyed our stay there as we could walk to Mass, to the bookstore, to the campus restaurant/bar Legends where we had dinner, and to the game. I'm not sure it was a good "value" as there are other less expensive options but none directly on campus, so we were glad for the experience. We enjoyed our stay and the staff were very helpful.

“Inn with the most charm”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2011

My daughter is a Notre Dame student and I have stayed at The Morris Inn twice in the last year. The Morris Inn is on the Notre Dame campus and although the rooms (and bathrooms) are small, the inn has charm. The rooms have been refurbished and are comfortable as are the bathrooms which look retro, but have magnifying mirrors and decent lighting. It is the gathering place for university visitors and I have met lots of interesting people in the lobby and the bar - all of which feel like a home. Notre Dame keeps the hotel full of its guests, but if you can get a room, it's the best place in South Bend. Breakfast is included and is good. The bar is cozy and fun, with a bartender who knows what he is doing. The doorman is a gem.

Room Tip: The rooms are small. Try to get one that looks out at the main road or the South quad which are sli...

“Great old-fashioned service in a beautiful setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

I arrived at the Morris Inn cold and wet to find the most wonderful hospitality inside. The bellman came out to meet me, took my bags and made me feel so welcome that it was very touching after my difficult day. The breakfasts were excellent and the room was lovely. I am very grateful that the hotel reception allowed me a very late check out time in order to catch a very late train out of South Bend - I'm sure they can't always do it but they did it for me and it is service like this, above and beyond the call of duty, that makes a place stand out. Thank you to the Morris Inn for your hospitality and helpfulness.

“Still the best for a Notre Dame visit.”

This was my second visit to the hotel. Still a great choice if you are visiting Notre Dame. The breakfast is also one of the best all inclusive I have had for the price.

“Convenient, Clean Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2011

My wife and I stayed here July 22nd through 24th for our son's lacrosse tournament. The location of the hotel was extremely convenient and was within walking distance to all areas of the campus. The building is old, but was very clean. The room was somewhat on the small side, but had a large closet area between the room and bathroom. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept in for a hotel. The room also had a large flat screen tv mounted on the wall in front of the bed, as well as it's own cable box. It was nice to be able to have a channel guide and all of the options a normal cable box gives you, not like the limited cable in most hotels. The staff was very friendly and both restaurants on site were very good. We were given complimentary restaurant vouchers for both nights of our stay and they included one entree, as well as juice or coffee. The campus is beautiful and this would be the perfect place to stay if visiting a student, or attending a football game.
