We were given an overnight stay as a Christmas gift, otherwise, we may not have stayed here as it's fairly expensive, with no known discounts. This is an older hotel, situated right on the campus of Notre Dame, near the Hammes Bookstore. Although there was a hockey game, a women's basketball game and a mens basketball game all going on that weekend and the hotel parking lot was full, it was a really quite atmosphere inside the hotel. The doorman greeted us and inquired if we were there there to attend a game. Probably an easy guess since we were "decked" out in our fan attire! The hotel lobby was nice with a small library and sitting area. Sorin's restaurant with interesting murals of the campus during different eras was right off the lobby as well as a bar, which seemed low key even after a HUGE men's basketball win. The rooms were very clean, but small and older. Everything was nicely appointed, we had everything we wanted/needed. Breakfast was included the next morning which was great; again, it was quiet. We enjoyed our stay there as we could walk to Mass, to the bookstore, to the campus restaurant/bar Legends where we had dinner, and to the game. I'm not sure it was a good "value" as there are other less expensive options but none directly on campus, so we were glad for the experience. We enjoyed our stay and the staff were very helpful.
