We overnighted here on our way back to the East Coast from Minnesota. This hotel has seen better days. The "fun dome" (what must have once been a large indoor playground) looks like the set of a horror movie, and we literally needed to body slam the door of our first room to get into it (we ended up changing b/c it was a smoking room). That said...the room where we eventually stayed was surprisingly comfortable, the staff were friendly and the the pool and fitness center looked nice. Also the hotel is near lots of restaurants and other attractions. And they allow pets. Bottom line: the place is fine for a short stay, or if you don't plan on spending much time hanging out there during the day. But don't expect the Ritz...

ive reviewed several of the comments for this hotel and I must say some are right, but most are incorrect. My husband or myself stay here at least once a week. All of the staff is friendly and by all, I mean from the front desk staff to the maintance department. Any time an issue occurs, they dont hesitate to make it correct. The property is a bit old but the friendliness of the staff is the reason why we come back, and will continue to. My favorite person to see is Amber, one of the newer desk clerks. She welcomes us with an outstanding smile and great attitude, everytime! Steve is also great and has a wonderful personality. Im excited this place is getting back on their feet and the improvments are needed. I dont have anything negitive to say about this hotel. The staff is honest and make us comfortable.

Me and a couple of family members came out to South Bend to visit my nephew who's a student at Nodre Dame and decided to stay at this hotel for the night. I had stayed at this hotel a few months back and the only reason why I came back was because of the Nick, one of the front desk clerks. On our last visit he was very polite and got us a good rate on a room and so we decided to come back. So i get to the hotel, and i enter the lobby and no one is even at the front desk, and after waiting for 5 minutes a woman finally shows up and wasn't even sorry for making us wait. So I ask her if we could get the same rate we got last time but she refused because they had lost our information due to a new computer system, or something like that. So we get our room and when we tried to enter our room we couldn't get because the lock was broken. So, we had to go back to the front desk and get another room and the room we had wreaked of mold, all the channels on the tv were fuzzy, the sheets seemed dirty, there was trash under and around the bed, and there was a problem with the drain in the shower. Since we were really tired we just decided to deal with the room. The next morning we got up for their free breakfast and there was barely anything out there and no one was there to maintain the area. I told the person at the front desk about the breakfast situation and they did nothing about. Everything about this place was unacceptable. I was very displaesed with the extremely low quality of the hotel and will never be staying here again.

my husband and I stayed here during the ND Vs. USC football game. It wasnt our first choice, but price made the difference. When we checked in, the staff was very polite, assisted us with directions, coupons for the Football Hall of Fame, and tips for getting to the campus. Minor issues in the room, things like not having towels when requested, carpets were stayed and wallpaper peeling, but the hotel is nothing new. An older hotel is sure to have flaws. Our breakfast was simple but it was nice to grab a bite before going to expierence the Irish. A few other issues were addressed immediatly and the maintance staff was friendly and prompt. Over all, I feel the staff helped make us comfortable. We were traveling for a game, not to site see a hotel. Our value was worth it!
