Stayed for a night after an ND home game. We found it because of the reasonable rate and no two-night minimum (rare in So. Bend on football weekends, from my experience). Location is good; right downtown with restaurants nearby. It's an old Holiday Inn recently acquired and still in transition, so we found a mixed bag: great views, poor mattress quality, decent cleanliness, dingy and dim elevator lobbies at the garage levels. Some effort has been put into updating the tired decor. We didn't eat on the premises, so no comment on that. In general, it feels like a property on a slow upswing. I'd stay again, but would hope to find further improvements.

Stayed here 1 night. Nice place, clean rooms, very spacious. I didn't like the bed, though. Hard and uncomfortable for me. No continental breakfast, which is always a let down, in any hotel. Average place for an overnight.

The only good thing about this place was the location. Everything else was dirty and sucked.

We stayed here for a Notre Dame football game weekend (Friday and Saturday night). We chose this place because they had availablilty, and they were right downtown.

First, the location is absolutely excellent. We walked EVERYWHERE downtown, including bars, restaurants, and the College Football Hall of Fame. The only time we moved the car was on the game day, as it is a 5-10 minute drive from campus. The staff was friendly too. Despite the website saying parking was $5 a day, we were given a free parking pass from the front desk. The parking garage is attached. The hotel was only $500 for 2 nights on a prepaid website deal. For anyone who knows hotel prices during Notre Dame games, this is a great deal.

Now, as my title indicates, you get what you pay for. The room was just dirty, no other way around it. The bathroom was outdated and shower had almost no pressure. The room was so hot, and the air conditioning did not seem to work. I called down to the front desk and they told me because of the outside temperature, I had to turn the heat on to get cold air??? Didn't make any sense to me either, and the room remained way too warm. The only pro to the room was that we were high up and could see campus from the room.

If you are going with a group of guys, like I did, for a football game weekend, I'd say to consider staying here because of the location and value. But most guys would leave South Bend single if they tried to bring their significant others into these rooms.
