“The most disgusting hotel room I've ever been in!”

My husband and I and our 2 young children stayed here on our summer road trip to the Midwest. After driving nearly 900 miles we were looking for a simple, clean room to rest up for another 600 miles of driving the next day. What we got instead was a filthy room...stained box springs and mattresses, filthy bathroom, carpet that no one should dare walk barefoot on, dirty linens, and sink area in disrepair including pieces of wood and screws sitting on the counter. I cried myself to sleep while fully clothed and curled up in a little ball in fear of bed bugs and other little critters. No one should stay here and the health department should be called. It was a waste of money and disgustingly dirty.

“"People complain but we don't care"”

"People complain but we don't care" these are the exact words spoken to me by Desiree the day assistant manager. We stayed in a room where the bathroom floor was LITERALLY FALLING IN. The toilet was FALLING THROUGH THE FLOOR. Mold was growing on the wall, there were HOLES IN THE CEILING.
I have been on an extended trip across this country and I have had good and bad experiences in hotels and motels but this one took the cake. Not simply by the deplorable and unsafe environment but compounded by the attitude of the "day assistant manager" (Desiree)
I will be publishing an article based on this cross country trip combined with another trip taken for this same purpose the title will be "Moteling Across America"; however this motel/hotel inspired me to go much further. I am also going to file formal reports with the building inspector the health inspector and business licensing department and several other local governmental agencies. This PIT should be SHUT DOWN.

“Filthy Thieves”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2009

There for a football weekend. As we were leaving the room I asked my friend if we should bring the unopen bottle of grey goose vodka sitting on the dresser to the tail gate, he said no, and with that I closed the door. When we returned it was gone. We told the front desk, they said they would let the owner know nothing was ever done, we even approached the woman who was responsible for our room and she said she never saw nothing. Theres a guy who goes around with a set of keys who walks in all the rooms, not sure what he is doing but he disappears in these rooms for a while then comes out and goes into the next one. I am embarrassed to say that I allowed myself to stay in this room at all. It is so bad it should be condemned. In the morning we noticed 2 bugs in the bed. Not sure, probably lice or bedbugs. stains on the mattress, No hot water to take a shower. This place is actually a safety hazard.

“Do not stay here.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 July 2009

I didn't know a place could look like this and stay in business. They must survive on payments that they keep after they won't refund your money when you decide to leave. The light bulb didn't work in the bathroom. When we got one from the office and put it in ourselves, the light cover was so dirty, the light hardly made any difference, and we would have been better off not being able to see the bugs and dirt in the tub. Floors were dirty, sink was dirty, bathroom "counter" was downright primitive. The place was run down and in a general state of disrepair. We reserved this as one of the Wyndam motel recommendations. Why they include this motel in their listing is a complete mystery. Stay at America's Best Value Inn just up the road. It was very clean, the staff was very kind and helpful, they had a continental breakfast, and only cost $15 more.

“One of the Worst”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 July 2009

Where do I start? The place looks like it has had no maintenance since it was built.
We arrived late and had to use the night check in. There was an ice machine and ventilation blower making so much noise that we could barely hear the desk clerk. Everything looked very shabby and rundown. Even though we had misgivings, we checked in. We had made reservations on line for a room with one queen bed. When we got to the room, we found two double beds. We went back to the desk clerk to request a room with a queen bed. We were informed that none was available. Since our requested room was not available, we asked that a refund be applied to our credit card. The desk clerk refused to refund our money. Now we have to go through the hassle of disputing the charge. We found a lovely motel a block away for the same price we had paid for the Knights Inn dump. The Knight's Inn experience was certainly an unpleasant way to begin a 40th anniversary trip.
