I grew up in this area, and hate returning because there just aren't many decent choices in hotels. I stayed here on a one-night business trip, and will return in the future. The room was nice, clean, and overall the hotel had a well-maintained appearance. I highly recommend the restaurant in the hotel, and I avoid hotel food whenever possible. Their Kobe Beef Burger is among the best burgers I have ever had. The rest of my colleagues that were travelling with me agreed that the food was phenomenal, and Chadd behind the bar provides great service, and with a sense of humor.

I stayed here one night for business and found it to be a very nice hotel. There are not a lot of choices for this area but this hotel was nice and I would go back. The rooms were updated and large. Only complaint is that room service took extremely long to arrive.

I called the hotel to make a reservation and they sent me to a central reservation center that from the accent of the girl that answered seemed to be located somewhere in Asia. The best price she could quote me was $139/night so I called a smaller hotel, The St.Mary's Inn right across the street. The person that picked up the phone was actually able to reserve my room for me without putting me on hold and sending me to a call center in a distant land and at a price of $89/night.

I've had the chance to stay in this Hilton Garden Inn a few times when business has taken me to South Bend, and on each visit I have been nothing but impressed. This is one of the nicest Hilton Garden Inn properties in the chain.

The hotel has a good location within South Bend; it's close to several restaurants and conveniences.

The decor of the hotel is really great; it's on the modern side and very stylish. It's not as bland as other HGI properties I've stayed in. The lobby is open and bright, with a nice sitting area and some good work spaces. The rooms I've stayed in have been excellent -- great desk space, well-lit, very clean. (The only thing I wish is that the bathroom door did not close automatically.) On a couple of visits, I have been put in a very spacious suite with a separate area with a couch, etc.; no complaints on the complimentary upgrade! The hotel's fitness center is also in good condition with decent equipment; there's also a business center. I appreciated that the business center computers worked as they should; there was also a copier.

Service was great -- welcoming check-in, free water, efficient.

All in all, a great property that delivers a great value.
