“Poor B & B”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2011

I'm not sure I stayed at the same place as other reviewers. The breakfast was simple and ordinary. More effort and cost could have improved breakfast. Thje plumbing is simply atrocious. Our room had a "hammer" (rather loud, too) in the pipes that occurred whenever you flushed the commode. My wife took a shower after I did and when someone in the adjoining room started their shower, the water pressure went to a trickle. Ok, after their shower ended, our water was ice cold. Location was good, but you can do much better. Probably, our worst experience at a B & B and we have visited many.

Room Tip: Don't choose the Sewing Room.

“Great location for a Bed and Breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

I took a solo trip to wander the quilt stores and to see the play, "The Confession" at the Blue Gate Theater. The Morton Street Bed and Breakfast was perfectly situated for me. I checked in at the Bread Box Bakery next door and was escorted to my room. I had the Gardener - it has 1 queen bed in it and a bathroom. It had windows on 2 sides of the room and I could hear the relaxing sound of horses hooves on the street below. The breakfast was lovely - fruit and french toast and canadian bacon.

I ate dinner at the Blue Gate and then went upstairs to see the play - when it was over about 9:45pm - I just walked back to my room. (about 1 block).

Room Tip: I think that the Gardiner would be a tight squeeze for two people. Not much floor space for luggage...

“Great Christmas Celebration!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2011

Rented the whole Bed and Breakfast for a staff Christmas Party. Everyone had a great time with the privacy we needed to celebrate as a group. Everyone reported a good night sleep and would come again.

Thanks for the cookies and hospitality. I was told that when we return there will be updates. Cannot wait for a return visit.

“First Choice for Ladies night out!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2009

I have been coming to Morton Street for over ten years. I always choose this location for my church's ladies group and we rent the whole house. This bed and breakfast experience is a bit different and I think that is why I like it so much. I like the fact that the owners do not live on site and it allows us to have the whole house to ourselves. Each room is tastefully decorated, and I have stayed in everyroom. The main living area has a piano and plenty of space for our annual game of charades. I read a posting about someone felt that it was all about the money, and I have to say that I disagree. This is based on the fact that often time situations have come up where someone ends up not being able to make the trip. I am always charged for just who makes it, rather than a set number (double occupancy per room). The gardens are lovely and the kitchen has snacks and cold pop waiting. The kitchen is fully functional, and a family easily could rent the house for a flea-market adventure. There is a den off of the kitchen which can be considered a small library. The dining room is large enough for a group to play games and this area is seperate from the kitchen and living room. The main floor room has a large bathroom that is unique to the time the house was built. The bed linens are fresh and plenty of towels for each guest. The house itself it kept very clean. There is only one room upstairs that I consider being small, but the bed can fit two people. I also appreciate that each bedroom has its own private bathroom. There is no main floor bathroom for everyones usage however, so one must use their own room. The home is stuated on the corner and each block, including Morton Street, has shopping opportunities.

My sister & I stayed here this past weekend to celebrate my 50th Birthday! We had a most relaxing stay at this charming Bed & Breakfast. It is decorated beautifully. We stayed in the "Guest Room". The owners are to be commended for such a wonderful place. And also many thanks to Eva for a yummy homemade breakfast! We will stay here again
