We stayed at this hotel for only one night since we were driving through Indiana. It cost us $53 including taxes. We chose this hotel because it was cheap and the free Wifi. They also have a free breakfast that starts at 6 AM and let me tell you, it is not worth it. By the time we got there at 8:45 am, it was already picked through. Cereal and stale looking pastries and waffles is what they had. Beverages included coffee, orange juice, and milk.
The front desk attendant was nice and gave us what we requested : a first floor double bed room. When asked about the free Wifi after we had paid, she said some occupants had complained that the Wifi was not working in their rooms, though it was working in the front office. She assured us she had contacted the owner who was on his way over to rectify the issue. We were pretty unhappy about this, as this was one of the main reasons we chose to stay here. But when we tried to access the internet, we had no issues. I should note our room was only a few doors down from the front office so maybe that is why it worked out.
There is a a bar (Brewski's?) directly next door to the hotel but luckily our room was on the other side of the hotel, so we never had any noise issues that other reviewers had. If you stay here, be sure to request a room on the opposite side of the bar and hotel so you do not have to deal with the noise. It still made me very nervous to be staying there as there was a large crowd outside of the bar and I had a car packed with items.
This hotel is OLD. It probably was built in the 80's and you can tell--from the old printed bedspreads to the decor hanging on the wall and the big box TV . It needs a major renovation. The plus side: it was clean--no stains on the sheets, no bugs, no smells. Even though the bathroom was extremely dated, it was clean. That I can appreciate and that is what I expect given the price. We weren't expecting the Ritz Carlton here.
Overall, I would suggest staying here if you are looking for a cheap one night stay. It is fine if that is your need. Would not suggest staying here if you have to stay more than that. Though the hotel was clean and sufficient, it still made me uneasy given the location (close to truck stop and bar) and the outdated room. If you are staying for more than one night, spend about $40 more and choose the Hampton Inn one street over.
