The reason I chose this property was the acceptance of pets. However, it is all verbage. My dog is small, under 5 pounds, and you would have thought I had brought a pit bull with attitude. The clerk was upset immediately that I was holding my dog in the precious lobby. When I contacted the property they could have outlined the "pet rules" and the signing of a sheet which indicated, "any complaint about the dog was an immediate departure and no refund" along with "costs". First off, responsible pet owners like myself bring a kennel and chewy toys to keep the dog entertained. We take responsibility but expect to be able to have 30-45 minutes to swim, eat, etc. without putting the dog in the car!!!

I could not enjoy the pool or breakfast since I felt that if my dog let a peep, I would be out looking for another place to stay. What about noisy kids??? They are okay.

The sheets and cover were bad enough that I slept (sort of) on top of the bed that night for fear of what might be lurking under the covers. A couple of sets of non working receptacles. Floor needed some more cleaning. To top it off, the Moron that stayed there before me set the alarm for 4:45 AM and turned it on. Thank you knucklehead whoever you are. They didn't ask at checkout how the stay was and judging by their looks, they didn't care, so I saved my breath. Then, I had to ask for a receipt.
Silly me for not checking this site before I booked. Avoid this hotel.

Spendy price. The front desk person was not frienly at all. Got a room that was kinda smelly. Bathroon had lots of hair on the floor. The large light in the bathroom didn't work so was dark in the shower area. Breakfast was OK. There was a guy walking around the breakfast area barefoot. A lot of the tables were dirty when I went down (around 8:30 or so). Won't stay here again.

On August 21, 2007 at around 9 pm, I checked into the Comfort Inn located at 111 Enterprise Way in Sellersburg, Indiana.

The desk clerk ask to see my photo on my drivers license, I handed her my drivers license and she proceeded to type in all the information on my drivers license into the hotel computer. I asked why it was necessary to type all my private information from my drivers license into the hotel computer, she did not know why. The Manager just required it. I do not feel this manager needs my private information, so others please beware.

I then proceed to tell her, we were with the Reward Program and she asked to see my card. We only received one card and my husband was in Denver and he had our card.
Well she did not know what to do about it, I suggested we call the number for Choice Privileges and I asked if there was a phone I could use. She said, “Don’t you have a cell phone?” and I told her, “Yes I do, but I’m not going all the way out to my car to get it.” Finally she let me use the hotel desk phone, where I called the number and got our number for her. After all that, she tells me she has only been there about two months and she does not know how to put our number into the computer to give us credit. I suggested she leave a note and let someone put it into the computer tomorrow.
I get a cart and unpack my car and go to my room. The hallway carpet had lots of stains and had not been cleaned for a long time.
To my horror the room stunk! Sorry, but there is no other way to describe it.
The bathroom ceiling was covered in mold, yes you heard me MOLD.
The floor around the tub was also moldy. The bathroom only had two small hand towels, which were worn and no bath towels.
My question is why were there no bath towels?
Not that I needed any bath towels, because I was not about to take a bath in this filthy tub.
So I went down stairs to the desk clerk and asked her, “I need another room, if you could give me a cleaner room, then the room I got and if not I want my money back. Her reply was “No and no.” At this point I’m not a happy camper. I told her I would complain to the home office, Choice Hotels Inc. and she told me I quote, “Knock your self out.”
I paid $73.65 for bad service and a dirty room.
On the way back to my room I asked the couple riding the elevator, if their room was as dirty as mine. Both agreed the room was dirty, moldy and smelled, he said he had also asked for their money back and were told “No.”
As we were getting off the elevator the little lady tripped on the carpet, that was not tacked down.
Back in my room I took photos, with my camcorder of this stinking, moldy room.

When I got home from my trip, I wrote Choice Hotels my “Knock myself out” complaint and I went to the internet to write a review on this Comfort Inn in Sellersburg, Indiana. Guess what! I found lots of complaints just like mine, going back as far as 2005.

I do not understand why none of these complaints have been addressed by Choice Hotels Inc. before now. They have a 100% Unconditional Satisfaction Guarantee

I requested and received a full refund from Choice Hotels.
