During a five day trip to Indiana, the first two nights were spent at the Schereville Holiday Inn where the staff was very nice and accomodations were excellent. The third and fourth night was spent at another Holiday Inn in a nearby county approx one hour away. We had made reservations for the last night at Schereville Holiday Inn prior to our return to Arizona. During the second stay, we were assigned a wheelchair room. Upon discovering this the front desk was called and informed of our dissatisfaction--needing to squat to take a shower, no bathroom vanity, just rails--all toiletries, cosmetics had to be placed in the sink eliminating the use of the sink, the door could not be propped open to allow steam to escape, etc. We were told it was our word against the clerk who took the reservation because wheelchair was written in the reservation and they would need to investigate. We were told the general manager is who we needed to address our concerns and this individual would be in the following morning. I did attempt to contact the manager prior to checkout and was told the general mgr had not come in. The girl at the desk did inform us she was familar with our complaint as the night clerk had left a msg. The same person who had been so nice, was no longer accomodating nor friendly-- obviously cold. I left a phone number for the gen mgr and have not received a call. I did try to call towards the end of that day, but was told the gen mgr had still not come in.

The wheelchair room heat/airconditioning unit would not turn off during the night and was either heating too much or was too cold. But due to the poor response earlier, we didn't bother to address this problem.

The rooms are decorated with the Hospitality Promise signs--indicating any part of a dissatisfactory stay is corrected. Not true, in fact, avoidance of a problem would be more accurate.

The rooms are clean...one other problem was two of the mornings between 8:30 and 10:00 am, even with the privacy sign...housekeeping comes and knocks until you wake up and respond that you're in the room.
