We got to this hotel using one freq traveler night and paying for one night. The hotel is nice and very clean and has a great morning breakfast with hot food. My complaint about the hotel wasn't anything to do with amenities, only the hotel "policies". We got to our room on the second day we were locked out and when we went to the desk we were told we had to pay in advance for the room. The desk clerk had taken my credit card at check in the day before so when asked why wasnt the room charged then, he said that isnt how we do it. He then proceeded to charge our card for the cost. At check out the next morning when we turned our keys in and was handed our receipt it showed a cost of 34.75 more than we owed. I showed the woman at the desk my reservation which I had happened to print and bring with me and she said corrected my bill. When questioned why we charged so much she said sometimes Comfort Inn just changes the price but we said its never happened to us at any hotel that we were charged a price other than our reservation price and secondly why was the price more than $20 more tha I heard someone quoted at the desk just the night before. When I got home my card had been charged a price of $175.10 plus the corrected cost so I had two charges on my credit card. When I called and questioned that I was told the first price is just a standard price they put in until you check out and it should come off my card automatically. I checked later and the first charge was gone but I believe only because I called and complained. I have never had a hotel insist on the payment up front when they had a credit card on file and then charge me way more than my stated reservation amount. Very bad business practices.
