“Hotel was ok”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2011

7 of us just spent the weekend at the Comfort Inn, Plainfield, IN. The hotel was the usual Comfort Inn - nothing fancy just a clean, comfortable hotel. But - we did notice some things that just didn't sit well with us. A few of my family members went down for breakfast Sat. morning, hoping to get eggs and a breakfast meat. But they saw the employee making the eggs in the microwave - same with the breakfast sausage - and that completely turned them off of breakfast. Also the breakfast area is quite small - considering the hotel was fully booked Sat. night. The pool is very small. We had 3 teenagers with us who used the pool Friday night. There were 4 other children in it (all below the age of 7) and there wasn't enough room for the kids to swim or play. They used the pool again Sat. night and this time they were by themselves and it was fine. But the number one thing that upset me was the most was when we returned to our room Sat. night and found our door unlocked - it wasn't shut all the way. The cleaning person didn't close it properly when she got done with our room so anyone could of had access to it the entire day. Luckily for us nothing was missing but that was still very, very upsetting. The desk clerk said she was sorry and would talk to them but that doesn't help me.

“Needs Remodeling”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2011

Just stayed here two days ago. We had choice hotel points and wanted to combine visiting Indy relatives with a trip to see our child who's a student at IU Bloomington. We were planning only to use it for sleep and breakfast. We didn't need anything fancy. We didn't plan to use the pool (which incidently was closed) or the fitness area therefore, we chose this one has it was about $10 cheaper than others in the area. Unfortunately, our room with what we thought was two queen sized beds was actually equipped with two small doubles. The carpet was old and stained. There were no towel racks in the bathroom and the sink was very low. The refrigerator and microwave were right next to the head of one of the beds which made sleep in that bed noisy. It was fairly clean and the beds were comfortable, but when we were eating breakfast, the staff (maids and maintenance men in their greasy clothes) piled into the breakfast area and started making waffles, grabbing the last of the scrambled eggs, talking loudly, etc. In all of my years of staying in motels/hotels, I have never had to compete with the staff to get my breakfast. They weren't even polite about it by letting the guests go first at the waffle iron, etc. All in all, I would not stay here again. The room was $87 per night, the pool was closed, the beds were small, the fridge microwave was noisy and the staff eats with you! There are lots of other motels/hotels in Plainfield, do yourself a favor a choose a different one.

“Fine place to stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2011

My husband and I stayed here after a late arrival into Indianapolis airport. We phoned for their complimentary shuttle and only waited a few minutes. Our room was fine. It was clean & spacious enough. We ate the complimentary breakfast ,and it was pretty typical. My only complaint is there were not enough tables in the breakfast room so we had to take our food back to our room. This wasn't a problem as there was a small table & chairs in the room, but it was inconvenient. The staff were very nice. The location was good--it's walking distance from several restaurants.

“Not what We are used to from Comfort Hotels”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2011 via mobile

I had a specific reason to stay in this area and always stay in Choice properties. I travel about 75 nights a year and always stay in a Comfort Inn, Suites or another Choice family of properties. This was just not of the same quality I have come to expect. For the lack of a better word, the room was just dingy. It was outdated, not noticeably dirty but felt that way, and had a slight musty odor. I gave a "5" for value because the price and location were perfect. It just needs an overall to compare it to the many properties I have enjoyed in this chain.

“Awesome experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2011

After reading the reviews I was hesitant to book at this hotel, but the price and location were right. We discovered the motel is under new management and it was obvious!! We were greeted by Brittany who made us feel very welcome and we were given a room on the third floor. I asked if we could move to the first floor and she told me there was a group of young cheerleaders on the bottom floors and she thought we would like the quiet. We did and it was a great experience. The rooms were pristine and very comfortable. The breakfast was typical but well maintained and adequate. We will definitely stay again.
