We stayed at this hotel after traveling 7 1/2 hours to attend a family graduation party. We arrived and expected a speedy check in with friendly and knowledgeable staff. We arrived to quite the opposite experience. The check in process was very slow. Our paper work was not able to be found and staff had a difficult time with the computer. I was given keys that did not work on my hotel room. Keys were activated and walked in on other people who were staying in the room. Was given a second room and that one was also occupied. Finally I was given the right room and was over an hour late to the graduation party. Breakfast was also a sad story. The food was restocked very slowly if at all and the "breakfast manager" was unprofessional with guests. Lobby was fully of hungry people and we overheard a remark by a staff that was quite inappropriate. I certainly hope this place becomes better managed in the future.

I booked a romance package to celebrate St Valentine. My husband and I enjoyed the jaccuzi, bottle of wine, and chocolate awating us in the room.

We plan to return next year! All the staff has been very attentive to our every requests.

The reason I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND this hotel to anyone is that they overcharged me. When I called to question the charge, the manager accused me of stealing two pillows and said I was responsible for paying for them. I didn't take the pillows, and it is extremely frustrating and infuriating that they can arbitrarily charge you for things that you have no control over. I don't know, nor care, where THEIR mix up was but I shouldn't be responsible.

The stay was fine, though. If you are desperate for a place to stay in New Haven, IN, you'll have a clean place to stay. Just count your pillows when you check in and out.

Exactly what you would expect from a HIEX: clean, comfortable beds, adequate space and better than average lighting. The plus here was the staff. We got a recommendation at the front desk for a local restaurant (not a chain) called Casa Grill and it was excellent. All the staff were friendly and eager to please. We will stay here again on our next trip up north.
