“unfortunately cannot recommend this hotel any longer..”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2011

my family traveled from illinois for thanksgiving and my husband and i recommeded this hotel due to previous good experiences. we first moved to new castle and had to live at the raintree until we found a house (moved here due to my husbands job). services was super and staff was wonderful so, when we have family come to visit, we always recommend raintree. my 2 newphews and family check in for 2 nights, signed for 252$ for charges and life was fine. my niece in law checked her checking account later that evening after staying one night and 336$ was taking from their checking account and they still had one more night. first off, dont you wait until guest check out before charging their account? secondly, if your front desk staff mess up, dont you think a courtsey would be the first thing in resolving the issue? dont you think that charging more than what a customer signs for is fraud? stealing? we call and try to resolve the issue and are told "hold on right there!".. you dont take more from someones checking account without their authroization. after returning to the front desk, the 252$ was voided and 336$ was charged without anyone knowing. my niece is told "well she messed up last night"... ok so that becomes the customer's fault and you do illegal transactions without someones approval? you dont see a issue with this?? wow, never again..

ps: you walk in the room and the people are still there and say "what do you want me to do" and its not check out time. your staff is killing your business. better rethink... they are dressed in a hoodie sweatshirt and you dont tell people who you are? i dont know.. we stay at lots of places and we dont expect much but customer service and courtsey is not too much to ask for..

“Stay in Greenfield or Muncie”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 July 2011

The staff were the only good thing about this hotel - they were friendly and gracoius; however, that is all the positive feedback I can give. If you've seen the website, you should know that it's not up-to-date. There is no longer a hot tub - it is a boarded-up hole in the pool room (where the lights aren't kept on - we had to go to the front desk and ask that the pool lights be turned on every time), the wallpaper was peeling in our room, the icemaker was broken (had to ask for ice at the front desk - and only got a cupful), the halls had a musty smell, we had to ask for towels, one of the guests there at the same time as us had to move rooms three times in order to get one that had working air conditioning, the 'continental breakfast' consisted of cheerios, a bag of bagels and a gallon of milk and juice - and all of this at a price that can easily be matched or beaten by a nicer, cleaner hotel elsewhere. I have never reviewed a hotel before this, but I was so disappointed, I felt compelled to do so. This has been a nice hotel in the past, but is currently in pretty bad shape.
