Stayed at the holiday inn in louisville ky and must say, huge let down. My office manager had booked our management staff into 4 king suites through hotels.com. Once we arrived after the horible time we had finding the place and crossing the river because the only bridge was out. We were told they could not accomodate our reservations. The staff at the front desk was friendly however they would only put us in two suites and two doubles. This wouldn't be a real big deal had we not had conformation for the kings or at least got some form of acknowledgement from management in the form of rate reductions. We were charged the same for the standards that we were supposed to be charged for the king suites. Doesn't seem fair! The rooms themselves are old and seem to be laid out very oddly. The king suites actually look like they are supposed to be doubles that management pulled one of the beds out of and put a big tub in its place. The tub sits on a big tile deck in the middle of the room with no steps to reach it. Definately wont stay again.

Excellent service was provided by the hotel management and staff for a girls softball organization which utilized 16 rooms. Many thanks to the staff. Strongly recommend....

We signed a contract for a meeting room with them for $100 per day as long as we had booked 10 sleeping rooms as well. Our attendees did book the 10 rooms, but the hotel charged us $175 per day for the meeting room as they said some of our attendees booked on line rather than at the hotel...that was never part of the contract. They never told us that all rooms must be booked direct with the hotel. When we called they--they said too bad, we have already charged your card and we will not issue a credit! What ever happened to customer service? We sent a lot of business their way---at least they could honor the contract that we had with them. DO NOT TRUST THEIR SALES DEPARTMENT!!!

My family and I stayed here in an overnight stay. After changing rooms, because we asked for a higher floor before we checked in and were not given one, we noticed that every vacant room on our floor had a door open. We thought that was strange and asked the clerk why that was so, and we were told by the clerk that the staff just does that for their own reasons. In one of the rooms, the TV was still on.

At night, and this is the reason why I'll never stay at a HI Express again, I heard a large banging at the door. I awoke to find another family trying to get into our room. It seems as when my room was changed, the card to open the door did not block out any other cards. If I didn't put a lock on the door, this other family would have walked right in. When I called security, because the other family refused to believe that I had the room, I was questioned as to why I was in the room. It wasn't until I went downstairs (and treated as if I was a criminal) that the mistake was realized. I was given $10 off my stay. I should have been given a free night.

The next morning, the family who tried to get into my room thought it was hilarious that my family was awoken in the middle of the night. It also turns out that other guests had the same experience. One guest walked into a room with a woman already sleeping in it.

Not safe, not professional. The pool was also dirty with cigarette butts in the table holes for the umbrellas. The towel area was dirty. The breakfast area was also pretty shoddy. We couldn't wait to leave.

I had been a Holiday Inn customer for twenty years. I will never go back after this experience.
