Napanee Inn is a half mile from Amish Acres and is afiliated with them. The packages mention the hotel, but no discounts are offered for some weekends. Transportation to Amish Acres is not provided, walking is not a good idea without sidewalks. Check in was smooth, they had the reservation. Apples at the front desk a nice touch. All fees are paid at check-in. Inside hallways are nice. Room lock had been broken, so there were marks on the door where the old one had been pried out and the new one installed. Outside rear doors require a key, but were mostly left ajar. Stairway lights were out in some places, soft drink machine on the floor was broken. Room was clean and neat. Housekeeping was good, except we were short a towel on the second day. Amish design quilts a nice touch and the furniture was solid oak. Non-smoking room smelled like smoke. Hotel says they were recently converted from some smoking rooms. There were instructions in the bathroom for how to clean the rubber bath mat in the tub or extra cleaning charges might apply. Small TV, some cable channels but no HBO. Two double beds in the room, as requested, but you can feel the springs in the mattress. Ask for a room in the back to minimize train noise, which didn't bother us. Cold breakfast served in the morning until 10 (not counting hot instant oatmeal). Breads from the Amish bakery the best part, the rest was basic cold cereal, coffee and juice. Checkout was easy, no waiting. I would look into the local bead and breakfast places first.
