I used Hotwire to book a room at the Super 8 in Muncie for $59. I was a little concerned that I got a Super 8 and had hoped for something I would have thought was nicer. But in the end, the Super 8 was just fine.

It is very, very basic, although they do provide a little breakfast -- some cereal, donuts, bagels and a waffle iron. The room was clean and had a coffee maker, mini-fridge and hair dryer. The TV had a great selection of channels. It was very close to the Ball State campus, which was my destination.

The towels, sheets and mattresses were just OK. But frankly, they were about the same as some higher priced motels.

Overall, I'd recommend this for the budget-conscious traveler.

Hotel actually did not look that bad from the outside, but oh my goodness what a smell!! It was booked up because of some youth sports something or I would have switched rooms. Horrible and will never stay again!

My stay was mediocre at best. The odor mentioned by another reviewer is there, except it isn't just one room but the ENTIRE hotel. I wasn't impressed at all, especially when I called the front desk for a pillow and he said, "Could you come and get it?" What service?!
The hotel is okay for what you get at the price; a place to stay in Muncie.

Stayed at this Super 8 three times now, in 2003/04/05 and will be there again in 2007.

Very friendly and helpful staff, rooms always clean, there are always a few odds and ends to have a grumble about but we like the place and make it our base for a week each time we stay in the area.

The Wi-fi coverage wasn't brilliant, but we were at one end of the building so used our laptop in the lobby. Free coffee and cakes useful for early starters.

If you are picky about rooms then any of the large Motel groups won't be your thing, but we always use Super 8, this will be our 14th stop in one of their sites.

We are based in the UK, where typically you would pay double or more for the same facilities.
