We stayed for a weekend getaway so the kids could swim. My daughter left her gameboy in the room and when I called to get it back they said they never found it. I know she forgot it in the room, but that doesn't mean you can lie and keep it. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone unless you want your personals taken away from you.

As others have said, the hotel smells like smoke as you walk down the halls. Halls get stifling hot and seem to have no ventilation. I felt claustrophobic. The room was ok at best. Bed linens were a bit old. No fridge. Super-thin walls. I've never stayed at a hotel before where the sound bothered me before this. We could hear people "being intimate" right above the front desk/breakfast area, which was weird during breakfast. Some doors to the outside did not shut fully, so you did not feel safe.

Breakfast (maybe due to the conference) was a full American breakfast (not Continental). There was some ok sausage gravy and biscuits, but the scrambled eggs were greenish and rubbery. I'm sure the people here work very hard (seemed like the same two people did everything), and certainly didn't seem lazy, but perhaps there is just not enough money coming in to keep up with everything and keep things well staffed?

We (conference attendees) were told to take a shuttle to the local university that picked up outside of the next door apartment complex and that this was the transportation they had arranged with the university conference. Ended up being a public transportation bus on a Walmart run and you had to know where to "jump off" blocks away from your destination and finish by walking, or take it all the way to the central hub and switch buses.

I would NEVER stay here again. Many of my fellow conference attendees stayed at a different hotel and said theirs was wonderful and their conference experience was well managed.

Even though I was in a non-smoking room, the second floor seemed to be non-smoking for every other room. The entire hotel reeks of cigarette smoke. Additionally, while they cleaned the rooms daily, the hallways were generally filthy. For days, someone's underwear was wadded into a corner at the top of the stairs. There was a tiny "fitness center"--with one treadmill. Fortunately, I was the only person in the place who used it! The continental breakfast was not very good. The front desk staff was nice, but it's still a really dumpy hotel. I realize that they can't keep the smell of smoke from permeating, but they could at least have one entire floor as non-smoking to make an effort for some fresh air. Also, the window was bolted shut, so you couldn't even ventilate the room. It's very inexpensive, but the saying you get what you pay for is very appropriate for this hotel.

Room smelled when we go there, 1 light bulb was out, wash cloth and hand towel had old make up on them. When we got up in the morning I found a live bug in my bed, hubby took it to the front desk and they said " oh it prob. came in on someone". After hubby got back I showed him a life saver stuck to our bedding, he went and got front desk staff and she said "yeah it looks like they didn't catch it in the laundry, I'll tell them to watch out" she then walked out, and then came back and said I'll take some money off your bill. She took of $6.50 not for the bug, but for the life saver. I am going to be contacting whom ever it is to get this problem fixed.
