“very pleased,wil return”

We took our yearly family trip to Indiana Beach last weekend, and we decided before leaving that we were going to try a hotel instead of our normal indiana beach campground, whiich we just didn't want to deal with the crowd and late night drunks-lol.This was the only hotel in monticello that had one vacancy left,so we took it. We were very pleased, being a coffe fan, I was disapointed that there was not a coffe maker in the room, but free hot coffe was just a few steps from our room in their"garden room" where they also have tables, chairs, the hot tub and sauna.. The room was very clean, our kids loved the fact that their was whirl pool jets in the tub in our room!!.We also did something diffrent by buying our Indiana beach tickets there at the hotel that night before we went down to Indiana Beach the next day, which saved us forty bucks!
The next morning we had breakfast there, which probly would be my only issue with the place, because it was not much variety in choce , it was either muffins or cereal. But when we came back from Indiana Beach, there was fresh cleans sheets on the bed and cot,you could actually smell they have been frwshly bleached, our trash cans were emptied, and the floor sweep, and plenty of new towels, and mints-lol!
The staff there was wonderfull, and so friendly, one lady in particular always made small talk when we retured into the lobby, They made you feel like you were a apreciated guest! Not bad location from the amusement park, a short car drive down the road. There are things for families to keep busy, my husband and our son played golf($6.00 for the whole day) and our daughter and I could chill in the pool, or she could play on the playground and sandbox.
I would highly recommed if you are in that area,to try them.It is a quality hotel for a reasonable price, wen will defintly return next year:) We did eat at the resturant there also , and it was very good, and the staff there was incredibly friendly, very pleased all around:)

“Very nice place”

This is probably the nicest place to stay in the Monticello area and it's reasonably priced. In addition, you can walk to Indiana Beach without having to deal with the crowded parking lots and the lines of cars. Pond View golf course is next door and is a good course. It's reasonably priced for a round and you'll be treated well instead of as an inconvenience, unlike one of the other golf courses in the area.

The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, spacious and nice. As someone else said, it isn't the Ritz, but you're not in New York, you're in Monticello, Indiana. The only minus I can think of is that there is no room service, but again, consider the location.

For dining, Trios Restaurant is adjacent to the property and has a varied menu and very good food. I was surprised to see in another review that the resort had referred someone to the Sportsman for dinner. The Sportsman is also very good, but the menu selection is rather limited and it's much more expensive. Sublette's Ribs, just a short drive south on Shafer Drive/6th Street is also well worth a try. If you want old fashioned hot dogs and rootbeer, B&K, also south on 6th street, is great. For pizza, try Rockys or Abes, both local joints with some of the best pizza I've ever tasted.

If you're planning a trip to Indiana Beach or to the lakes, consider staying here instead of one of the overpriced and run down resorts around the amusement park.

“Best In Town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2008

Just returned from a stay at the Pine View golf resort last weekend. This was our second time at the hotel and we were once again very pleased. We went with a poolside room that had two beds, refrigerator, microwave, cable t.v., and a small patio overlooking the pool. The rooms are similar to what you would find in any Holiday Inn. Nothing particularly fancy, but they are clean and fairly well maintained. The pool area is very nice especially for Monticello, IN. There is also a hot tub, sauna, and golf course. The hotel is about 1 mile from Indiana Beach Amusement Park. It is probably just outside of walking distance, but only a short two minute drive.

We have been going to Monticello for years and I can honestly say this is the best hotel we have found. Most of the others in the area are tired and rundown. I would not hesitate to take my family here again. This isn't the Ritz Carlton by any stretch of the imagination, but it is the best thing you are going to find in Monticello.

“A great place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2007

This is a great small motel. Very clean. Debbie at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. Bathroom had toilet and shower behind a door, with sink out in main room, which we found convenient. Wall hairdryer, shampoo and conditioner provided, but no lotion. No breakfast, but coffee was provided in whirlpool area.

Hotel recommended the Sportsman Inn for dinner which was very good--steaks, fish, chicken, pasta, hamburgers, Reubens--wide variety. Less than a 10 minute drive from the hotel.
