“Empty Promises...One and Only time...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2011

we booked this trip last minute because the 4 of us (plus 2 kids under 3) didn't want to waste our time at the beach looking for a place. We booked the Beach Club cottage for 400$ (i know, ridi) for 1 night. We called the number of the website, asked if it was beach front property, etc. We were told yes, beach front with your private pool, etc.. I also think the website needs to total overhaul, there are no pics available. The reservation said that they don't provide grills, we showed up with a grill only to find. Information on the website is USELESS. When we arrived (thankfully after only 2 hours driving),,, we were water front, not beach front. Which is a big diff considering we didn't have a boat to dock, etc. and there was no entrance to the lake and the private pool was shared among the guests. We got 2 keys, 1 didn't work. the cottage was non smoking but we found cig ashes on the chairs and sofa. For the price we paid, they also expected you to leave the place in mint condition (such BS) so we spent the morning cleaning up sweeping, etc. The cottage was supposed to sleep six and stocked with all household utensils. 'i'm not sure who doest their math, but we had 4 forks and no steak knives... The mattresses were terrible and the pillows were worse. The front desk didn't share any information regarding the boardwalk and the cost of addmission. The staff on the boardwalk was uninformed and the common answer to any ? was "i don't know". Nothing was clearly marked. The swim beach was nice although it would help if the entire area's bottom was topped with sand instead of algea. This was our first trip to the area overnight; indina beach has a long way to go to reach the standards of such places like the dells or genvea We'll give it a few more years befor we try again. For the price we paid, i would have expected higher standards and service.

“What a dissappointment after 40 years!”

A few years ago, this family owned resort sold to Morgan Management. What a dissappointment! I've been going to this resort for over 40 years. This year, I booked the 'penthouse' as a treat. What a dissapointing surprise! The carpet was covered with thick, black stais, dead May flies covered the balcony and windows of the sliding glass doors, no tissues and no water glasses were in the room. I inquired at the front desk and was told, "We don't do Kleenex anymore." When I asked about my pass to the sandy beach that was ALWAYS included, I was told I could no longer enjoy the sandy beach with out buying a water park pass. When I got home, I sent several emails to Morgan Management with the pictures included. They did not respond. When I called the office, I was rudely brushed off when I asked for a better email address or telephone number to speak with someone in management. Finally, I wrote a review on Travel Advisor and let them know, the pictures would be published. I was contacted by Cory Crawford, a public relations intern stationed on the property. He promised me a free stay of equal value next season if I removed the photos. I contacted Trip Advisor and removed the review and never heard from him again, despite my weekly attempts via email. How sad and dissappointing.

“Snapperfest, abuse and torture of turtles for amusement”

Every year this campgorund hosts a horrific event known as Snapperfest whereby redneck hillbillies torture live turtles for amusement, the place should be shut down for this alone

“Ridiculous!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 August 2011

I have been coming to Indiana Beach since I was a very young child. We started camping here about ten years ago and haven't been for about three. We went this past weekend. While this has never been a top of the line campground and has always been a bit on the rowdy side it has gotten WAY worse. Downright ridiculous. The port a pot by our sight was disgusting. I seriously don't think it has EVER been cleaned. You couldn't breathe in it. But what was even worse than that was the lack of security. People blared music loudly until 3:00 in the morning. A couple across from us got into a physical fight while they're children (very young probably 3 and 2) were left in baby swings at the playground. We had two young children five years old in the sandbox when the fight started right next to them. They were screaming swear words at one another and telling each other to go take their drugs etc. It started pouring down rain and the kids were still in the swings while people pulled the couple off of each other. I never once saw a security guard. Then later that night a few sights down the same thing happened. People screaming F'in this and F'in that. Now while I know they can't control peoples behavior it was very evident that there wasn't even an attempt to do so. I look for something bad to happen at this campground. My kids each took a friend so we had six people on our sight. It cost us $70 a night. We should've went to a hotel. I was very disappointed in some of the changes at the park as well. We have always taken a cooler into the park and you are no longer allowed to do that. You have to scan your wrist band before getting on every ride which really slows down the line process. The park is WAY overpriced. You can spend a day at Kings Island for cheaper. I have lots of memories at this park and camground and I'm sad to say I have no desire to go back. The internet was not working either.
