Outstanding cheesy potato soup and unforgettable homemade walnut pie were two of the delicious items at the dinner buffet at the wonderful Spring Mill State Park Inn. (there were 4 other homemade pie choices - yummy!)
The desk upgraded me free to a "2 double beds" room on the top 4th floor, but I asked to settle for my reserved, smaller double room. The desk graciously moved me back into a double. "We wanted to give you a great view," the desk said.
The "2 double beds room" had a great view, but often I am more comfortable with just one bed in the room- if it's available. As it turned out, the "one double bed" was wonderful - with a rugged, faux wood four-poster canopy - I great, dreamy way to spend the evening.
I wandered through the wintertime, near-empty Pioneer Village twice. The Nature Center has a marvelous collection of animal poop. And the new items at the Gus Grissom Memorial are wonderful - thank you Betty Grissom for sharing these new pieces.
There are several comfortable chairs in the lobbies. Downstairs, I swam for a bit in the small indoor pool. There are plenty of board games, Nearly all the puzzles have a few pieces missing - noted inside each box lid. I played Solataire 5 times, and lost every round. Then, I played myself in Scrabble, 281-223, winning and losing at the same time.
