I visit the Turkey Run Inn in the Turkey Run State Park at least once a year and have for many years now. I stay either in the Inn itself or in one of the inn cabins located a short distance from the inn. I enjoy Indiana's state park inns, but they are not for everyone. The traveler needs to realize what they are in order to avoid disappointment. Since they are located within state parks, there is an entry fee (paid once) during the spring/summer/fall season. These inns are not located on main highways. Most are historic buildings with interesting histories and each one is unique. They are not sterile and modern, but are clean and comfortable. There are TV's in all rooms, including the cabin rooms. Service on my verizon cellphone is spotty, but improves each year. There is wireless internet service in the Inn, but it does not reach to the cabins. There is an indoor pool in the inn, open all year, as well as a pool in the park open during the summer months. Turkey Run State park is located on Sugar Creek and has a nature center and interesting trails. There is a covered bridge over the creek within the park, a pedestrian suspension bridge over the creek leading to some of the trails, and canoe rentals nearby for use on the creek. Bald eagles can at times be seen in the park. I have enjoyed the food in the inn dining room.
