We stayed here this past weekend and were assigned a room in the Paddleboat Wing. It is a dump! It is damp and rundown. The "shuttle" driver (middle aged gentleman) would not come pick us up from this area - we have to walk to the main building. The breakfast is AWEFUL - synthetic eggs and bacon that you self-microwave. Do yourself a favor and find another property in Madison, IN.

This is an incredibly charming hotel with a lovely view of the Ohio River....Staff is efficient and friendly. Prices are very fair..with an increase on high demand weekends as expected.

There are no phones or clocks...which is fine with me....and yes...maybe giant 65 inch flat screens would be nice in every room...but....I don't go on a trip to watch tv. Non-smoking in all rooms..NICE !

The area and town are very nice and welcoming. Many excellent festivals on the banks of the Ohio River....such as a folk music festival, unlimited hydroplane race weekend, car shows, blues bbq festivals, art festivals....and plenty to do around the area whether a festival weekend or not.

Interesting local shops....very good restaurants...world class state park (Clifty)

Where to start...First the price was outrageous for what we got, I have spent less at a hyatt or hilton then here. Room was tiny and dated, no phone or clock. flat screen tv was probably 15 inches. There was a refrigerator with a microwave on top of it below the tv. Shower had been renovated from a tub so the handles were about 6 inches off the floor. Shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner were in a dispensor on the wall and there was no shower gel in it. No ice machine available, had to go to the bar in the main building and ask for ice and cups and then were asked to return the plastic cups when we were done with them. Only thing good I can say was the bed was comfortable. I could only reccomend this if the price had been about a fourth of what the rate was.

Owner has done alot to make each room an experience in decor. The view of the river is grand but it was much better when the riverboats used to come to Madison. So much for government interference! A well kept secret and Madison's best lodging!
