Good hotel. Clean and modern. Large rooms. Would stay there again.

Made an online reservation for 2 non smoking rooms at 1PM, arrived at 4PM and was told they were booked and only smoking rooms were available. So why did they take my reservation 3 hours earlier for non smoking? Oh well, needed the rooms. Some smoke smell, heavy air freshener smell.

Rooms were very clean, decently decorated, fairly large. Bathroom very clean but a bit dark. Bowed shower curtain made for plenty of room. Not that many TV channels and older TV. Wired internet worked OK, they loaned us a cable. Older A/C worked well and was reasonably quiet but could have used a good cleaning. Bed was comfy, they need to splurge on some new blankets though.

Pool was refreshing. Not much to the pool area, could use some more furniture.

Didn't check out the breakfast but looked typical of motels. Also didn't eat at the Mexican place in the parking lot, didn't look that appealing and the deck was closed despite the beautiful weather. Went downtown for dinner and the Big Boy for breakfast.

For $59 the Best Western is a great deal. If you don't mind spending more and can get in, check out the Clifty Inn in the park. That place is new and looks great plus a great view from some of the rooms.

We travel to Madison three or four times each year, and Best Western is now the first place we check to make reservations.

Clean, very clean. Adequately furnished, if not luxuriously. Staff is responsive, and quite friendly. Has a small-town feel. Not on much of a picturesque property, but they do well with the setting they're on.

And has been significantly upgraded in the last three years. SIGNIFICANTLY.

We stayed at this hotel back in 2003 and vowed never to stay again, it was a dump. But we were on the web and looks like the hotel was looking better and the rate was great. Upon arrival, we noticed a huge difference. This hotel has won back our hearts, service was great, breakfast was even greater (fresh waffles), The rooms have all been re-modeled. Our stay was great and from now on, this is the place we will stay.
