I have stayed here a number of times. The inn has a series of rooms that face the Ohio River and a number that are located on the "park view" side. The latter would be more accurately designated the "parking lot view" side since that is what you actually see. If you do choose the less expensive rooms on the parking lot view side, you still get a very clean, comfortable modern room with the now expected amenities (mini fridge, microwave oven, flat screen tv). The rooms are large enough for a cot or sleeping bags to be added, a convenience for parents traveling with children. The folks at the front desk are friendly and helpful. The inn itself is spacious. All areas connect to all others internally. If it is raining or snowing outside, it is easy to get to the dining room, indoor swimming pool, lounges, etc. without going outside. If you lack a river view from your room, no problem. There are many rocking chairs along a glassed in corridor that face the river. There is also seating outside. The food in the dining room is just average but there is plenty of it. Caveat- Not all doors that permit you to exit to the parking lot, allow you to return by the same way. So you might want to make note of that when you want to pick up something from your car or when you are loading up to go home.
The inn is located inside the Clifty Falls State Park, so you have available the outdoor activities of a park. After heavy rains, the falls are fun to watch. The hiking is great if you like a lot of up and down. Unlike much of Indiana, it is not flat here.
Madison, one of the early settlements in Indiana, is just outside of the park on the southside. It is worth a visit fo a lovely stroll along the river, interesting little shops, additional restaurant options, an historic mansion and other sights.
