We drove from Chicago O’Hara Airport and it took one hour longer than we had expected. We didn’t realize that Indiana and Illinois are in two different time zones – so that’s why we arrived at 9pm instead of 8pm – a dah moment.
Our room, room 228, was unfortunately next to the freeway 65. The traffic noise wasn’t unbearable but you will hear it.
I found a few strands of hair in the bathroom and darn tooth brushing splash spots on the mirror - those didn’t gross me out but made me vigilant.
The bed was older and the sheets were scratchy; for a while, I was worried that scratchiness I was feeling on my skin was due to bed bugs. The bed springs, at least my side of the king bed, were a bit worn out, too.
The complimentary breakfast was the Holiday Inn Express basics; cinnamon rolls, biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage, pastries, juices, coffee and tea.
Free Wi-Fi in the room worked well which kept my husband happy and busy.
It’s very basic and a bit worn out.
