“Poor service - dirty”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2010

Checked in to a dirty room - linens on floor and old water in ice bucket - front desks says - it's checked off as clean.... but moves me upstairs ( no elevator - so mom goes up the stiars with 2 kids a 3 suitcases - no help). Next day - return to room - dirty - no clean linen - nothing has been done. Go down stairs - maid is gone by then but has again checked off as clean. I ask for owner to call me. Assurred he will. No call, but credit card charged, of course. Stay away from this place - better to go to Laffayette for decent accommodations!

“It was a nice clean place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2010

The sign out front said "under new management". Note that I work as a building manager but not in the motel business. I enjoyed my stay. The room was clean and fresh. The carpet was good, the counters were in great shape. The wall paint appeared new, yet I could not find paint spatter normally associated with a motel painter. The AC unit had a cracked front. Someone must have sat on it. The front desk help was knitting, which provided a Bed and Breakfast feel. The continental breakfast included biscuits and gravy which were very good.

“Very small, dreary rooms and no elevator to second floor”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2009

This motel is very dated. While the rooms are clean, the decor is dreary and the rooms are so small that those with claustrophobia should definitely stay away. All the large rooms are on the second floor, but there is no elevator and no one to help getting luggage up the stairs. If you're a business traveler accustomed to staying in this chain, be advised that this isn't the Holiday Inn Express you're used to patronizing. If all you need is a small clean room and a cheap rate, then you'll be satisfied. On the plus side, the front desk staff are very pleasant and courteous.

“Enjoyed the Holiday Inn Express”

Found the hotel to be above expectations. Eventhough there was a wedding party going booked there, the hotel was quiet. We did hear some strange noises coming through the vents and thought maybe we were in a haunted hotel, but turned out to be someone in the pool...which was right next door! We loved the whirpool suite and enjoyed a nice breakfast the next morning. Will return for a sweet rendezvous.

“You get what you pay for”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 July 2004

Yes, the rate is right but you truly do get what you pay for. We booked our room in March for a July stay. We are a family of five and could not get a "cot" (rollaway?) for our 3rd child (the hotel only has ONE). We had 2 double beds with 2 pillows each and could not get another one for the child sleeping on the floor in the sleeping bag we had brought. We were told they couldn't give out any "extra" pillows because a room with 2 beds is only allowed 4 pillows (they didn't HAVE any more to give out as they were booked solid...this IS a hotel, is it not?). I guess my definition of "extra" is different that their's...one pillow per person in NOT extra in my book. So, I gave up my pillow and woke up with a pain in my neck both mornings.

There is a very small over-heated pool which must have way too many chemicals in it. I usually have to argue with my sons to get them out of any pool. A half hour in this one had their eyes itching and they had hacking coughs...like you would get after hanging out in a sauna for too long. Even sitting on the side of the pool, my eyes were watering and itching. Yuck!

The room was a good size and it was clean. There is nothing much to do in the hotel...no eating facilities...no exercise room.

There is a decent Continental breakfast provided in a clean but small eating area. My only complaint is that it closes at 9am on weekdays. I like to take my time waking up in the morning when I'm on vacation, don't you?!

We would stay there again only because it's close to the relatives we visit out there in the country. But next time, we'll bring our own pillows.
