The room was clean and it was apparent the hotel has been recently remodeled so I have no complaints about the hotel's cleanliness or room with the exception of a stale smell in the room and cigarette smell in the bathroom. I do have the following complaints and requested a customer satisfaction survey and was told there were none available but they could bring one to my room and I opted to pick one up later (I plan to do this before I leave).
1. I was given a hard time about my pet (which they charge a pet fee for) and told I would need to leave my cell number if I left the room, she's 12 and I've never received any complaints about her nor did I in this instance after all of this.
2. I chose this hotel because of location (very close to business I visited) and because in addition to needing a place that accepts pets, I have to have a fitness facility, refrigerator, and microwave. Upon using the gym the only treadmill appears to be from the 1920s and was very loud and unsteady. The 1 weight machine was nice with multiple stations. The remaining equipment included a stationary bicycle that needed a new battery to be fully functional. Needless to say, the gym was very disappointing.
3. Upon requesting no service as I clean my own room when I travel, I was told that in order to get new towels I would need to bring the old ones to the desk and change them out. WHAT, YOU MUST BE KIDDING! Then upon taking the towels to the desk, the hotel rep stated I would need to place them into a plastic bag. I was really outdone then.
4. Breakfast was totally unacceptable, the bacon was small and thin and though you could eat 10 pieces and probably be satisfied, that's not my style. The eggs were fried and about 2 -3 inches round and 1/4 in thick. Initially I thought, I'll make this work, I'll make an egg mcmuffin as I noticed they had english muffins. I gave up after trying to split 2 of them to no avail. Very disappointing. Then I looked up and noticed a sign stating something like, Do Not Take Food To Room.
5. Despite my room being 2 doors away from a far entrance, the door closest to the parking lot (from my room) was labeled "Emergency Exit Only" and no cars were parked there. On day 2 of my stay I noticed someone had propped the door open with a rock and despite being locked from the inside and unaccessible from the outside, no alarm was on the door and you would think to make it more accomodating to the hotel's customers, they would put a keycard on the door so that it is accessible, None of the keycards on the other doors worked and the doors were left open. It was a long walk to my car and to take my dog out each time.
This is too much. I think the owners are very cheesy and are running the hotel in a very cheap fashion. I was offended numerous times throughout my stay and if it wouldn't have been such a major inconvenience to stay somewhere else, I would've packed up myself and my dog and been gone. It took a long time to research and find a hotel that would meet all of my needs and I didn't have that kind of time after the trip began.
I know one thing, I WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN!!!
