I travel often, so I'm a connoisseur in the subject of subpar hotels. This Best Western was pretty terrible and not even worth the price we paid ($98 or something...).
The lobby was fine but even walking down the hallways we noticed that it smelled old and in desperate need of a remodel. Our room smelled thick of deodorizer. We asked for a non-smoking room but halfway though my shower I realized that either smoke was being filtered in from another room OR someone had smoked there previously. We were in too big of a hurry to deal with it, so I just closed the bathroom door before we left for the night.
Despite the smell, the bed was old and lumpy. The pillows were the size of throw pillows and very lumpy, too. After waking up though the night because the bed was SO uncomfortable, I figured out I couldn’t get used to the smell either. We finally ended up leaving at 4 am because it was SO BAD.
I asked for a full refund, but the owner only gave me $25 back. I did not feel this was satisfactory for how terrible the hotel was but I couldn’t be bothered to argue anymore.
I suggest paying an additional $23-$35 per night and staying at a Hampton Inn or something under the Hilton Family!
