After reading all the "negative reviews", the objective of this hotel was to maintain the history of an era of train travel. From the moment you enter the hotel, you see statues of individuals who frequented Union Station during their hey day. Yes, the rooms could be considered small, but patrons need to keep in mind the historical value of the structure. We stayed in one of the railroad cars that has been transformed into a hotel room. It was unique. Of course, the room is smaller because ... ah... it IS a train car! But it was a unique and fun. The hotel is within walking distance of shopping and restaurants so it makes for a pleasant weekend. The main ballroom was a setting for a wedding we attended and it was awesome! Elegant, beautiful, and so full of historical ambiance you don't see much anymore. If you want a "Crowne Plaza Ordinary Experience", go elsewhere. For those of us who are seasoned travelers and want something extra... this is the hotel. Try walking around the entire structure and viewing the individual train stops. We loved it. And will come back each year for an overnight visit.
