Indianapolis hosts lots of big events, Superbowl XLVI notwithstanding, and they do a great job at it. If you're in town for an event, downtown is the place to be--pay the premium vs. suburban budget chains. Downtown is easy to negotiate, just park your car, and walk everywhere to dining and entertainment. Downtown hotels that are connected to the Circle Center are preferable for convenience, I think there are seven (?), and Embassy Suites (ES) is one of them. In your hotel search, if ES is available, don’t hesitate to book it. Any flaws will be overshadowed by the preferable location. If other hotels linked or adjacent to Circle Center are available and are rate competitive, give them a close look, but if they are booked or pricier, ES will be fine. Very predictable for a first generation downtown Embassy Suites. Based on reviews, I suspect some rooms are renovated, but not all. Ours wasn't, but it was well maintained, if not a bit dated. They do a good job at handling the masses when the hotel is booked at the manager's reception and the breakfast, not always the case at some Embassy Suites.
