“V noisy plumbing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

Stayed here for the Superbowl, the hotel is a simple drive from the airport, approx 30 mins. It is a bashoy towel type, I'm sure reasonable in price when not Superbowl weekend, but $250 a night it definately wasnt worth. The breakfast is a bonus and was quiet good. The only thing is the plumbing is so loud that at 3am when next door decided to have a shower, it sounded like a aeroplane was trying to land in my room!

Room Tip: Easy location to get in & out of Indi

“Nice Property, Convienent Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

This was my second excellent stay at this hotel, maybe not the most enthused gentleman when I checked in but gave me the basic rundown of the property, breakfast, etc. Probbaly 20-30 minutes to downtown Indy in a north suburban location. My room was extra big and clean everwhere as I checked it once I got into the room. Easy to get around being right on the beltway that goes around Indianapolis. Slow elevator but what do you expect with a two story hotel. Located in a office park setting.

“Don't be tricked !”

Some of the rooms may be furnished better , but not ours! They have this DVD at the front desk showing pics of the rooms. Looks can be deceiving. There was a 1990's hot tub in the room that had red stains on the washcloth. Pulled down the bed sheets, blacks hairs everywhere. Called front desk for new sheets an blanket. We had to make our own bed in front of the desk person because they physically could not do it. The window was broken and the locks were busted. It was letting in a draft. We only came there because a Marriott gave away our room and there were no other rooms in the city. Funny thing, comfort inn charged the Marriott 150.00 for our stay!

Room Tip: Don't stay in room 147!

“For the $50-60 prices I see listed, acceptable. Maybe. Maybe not.”

We stayed recently at the Comfort Inn and Suites North for a convention. Our rate was a total with tax of $102/night due to the convention. It appears they are usually $50-60/night.) Our gorgeous new Holiday Inn Express rooms traveling to Indy were $115/night. The hotel itself gives the appearance of being quite old-- 1960's maybe? Carpets in our rooms are fairly worn and the rooms in general are simply dingy. The grounds are clean as is the hotel itself. Upon entering our room from a fresh smelling hallway, the smell of smoke was evident. My floor was not a smoking floor. It got worse and we told the front desk about it. Despite the best of intentions, it absolutely was NOT addressed the next day as we were told it had been. Three of the rooms in our group did not have the beds made either. There was not a single item left on the bed in two of the rooms, one had a trundle bed in the way apparently, but all three rooms were noted as having the rooms completely done on the cleaning sheets that the front desk gets. Unnecessary. The towels were replaced and the garbage emptied in all. Day two our beds were made and the smoke smell virtually gone, but it did return as the week went on. The Internet was nearly impossible to connect to, even when most rooms were empty in mid-day. It also dropped easily.

The rooms did have a microwave, small fridge, ironing board and iron. The power strip didn't seem the safest and was under the bed, and they lacked plugs anywhere near the computer desk for a laptop. While I may be swayed by the high price we paid for this hotel, I have balanced it out by leaving an "average" rating rather than "poor".

The people working here both last year and this were all very kind and helpful (except when the cleaning was inadequate). The breakfast is good, quite standard now, but they kept up well with so many guests. The fact that smoking is still allowed in hotels is amazing to me. Having the first floor as a smoking floor only lets the smell rise. Walking through the first floor to use the stairs is like being in the bowels of hell. I feel horrible for the cleaning people who must be in that atmosphere.

Truly, this hotel would not be on any list of hotels I'd recommend. I hesitate to stay in a place with such a low normal rate as it isn't ever what we want. But the people who work there are the only reason I would say give it a chance. They are very welcoming and try hard to help you enjoy your stay.

Room Tip: Gee..... Maybe third floor to stay away from smoking first floor?

“Trip to Indy with FFA”

I stayed at this hotel for a student convention with my son and other parents and students. While the breakfast area and other public areas where kept clean and tidy that was not always tur in other areas. Upon arrival our room smelled of smoke (a non-smoking room), when mentioned to the clerk at the desk he stated it would be cleaned the next day. When we came back to our rooms the next day around 6 pm, our room still smelled of smoke and and our beds were not made. I checked with others in there group and out of 4 rooms only one room had there beds made. The internet was difficult to get onto and there were not enough plugs in the room. With the number of hotels in the area I would be hard pressed to stay at this location again.
