We visited the Hammond/ Chicago area for a relative's wedding in June and stayed one night. We chose the Super 8 because it was near the church and one of the inexpensive options in the area. Our total was around $85 plus tax for a Friday night.
The Super 8 is located on the corner of 2 busy streets. There are a few casual dining and fast food restaurants within walking distance. The motel offers a free continental breakfast including light options such as cereal, doughnuts, milk, juice, etc.
We opted for a non-smoking room with one queen sized bed. The room was clean and spacious with a mini refrigerator, microwave, desk with a large mirror and chair, dresser, and a TV. The bathroom was also spacious and handicap accessible.
The only complaint we have is that we were placed in room 112 on the first floor, right next to the lobby. Our window was facing the busy street and our door was facing the hallway and lobby. We could hear cars on one side and the front desk clerk and other people talking and walking around late into the night and early morning. However, my husband's parents stayed down the hall in room 105 away from the lobby and facing the parking lot, and we had other relatives in various rooms on the second level. Everyone else said their rooms were quiet, so we must have just been unlucky with our location.
Overall, this is a decent, safe and clean, no-frills motel for a short stay on a budget.
