“Great Nights Sleep”

If you are looking for a home away from home, this hotel is for you. It has that at home feeling from the minute you walk in the door until you leave. The rooms have a fresh scent and are very clean down to the remote!! The staff does a great job and are always friendly.
The beakfast is like a resturant breakfast and a nice way to start the day. It is an excellent value for your money. Almost forgot the most important. The beds are so comfortable you will sleep like a baby!!

“DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!”

We had four men traveling to Notre Dame on a football weekend and had made reservations months in advance through Orbitz. We were supposed to have two non-smoking rooms with two queen beds each. Even though I showed the lady at the front desk my reservation and confirmation number we were told that they didn't have those accomodations available. We ended up with a smoking double room and a king non-smoking room. They did provide a roll away so I didn't have to spoon with my friend in the king but still, to have the reservations in hand and still be told no, rediculous. The place was a dump to boot!

Room Tip: Stay at the Super8 in Plymouth. They will show no vacancy on the web but if you call you can get a r...

Price was great, awesome staff, awesome breakfast. Very Clean, well kept, pet friendly. Overall, if you are looking for a spot to stay in the area, worth driving a few extra miles.

Room Tip: Stayed in the double queen, roomy compared to some places we have stayed.

“Good base for exploring Amish Countryside”

My husband and I spent 3 nights here at the end of October. We had a pleasant stay and were greeted and treated very well by the staff on duty. The hotel is "motel" style on two floors with 3 separate blocks. We were in the rear block on the second floor. The fact that our door opened on to a balcony proved to be a little chilly in the mornings and the steps to the ground floor were quite slippy with frost on one morning. It was also necessary to wear a warm jacket while walking back and forth to the breakfast area. This didn't annoy us too much but I don't think I would like it in the middle of winter with snow outside! Our room was big and comfortable though I did need an extra blanket as only one blanket was provided on the bed. I'm not a fan of hot air blow heaters so I preferred to have the warmth on the bed rather than have a blocked nose from hot air blowing all night. Our room was clean too and came equipped with a fridge and microwave, coffee maker etc. The temperature in the shower was a liitle hard to regulate so care needed to be taken when using it. Breakfast was adequate with sausage, eggs, waffles, bread, pastries etc. The breakfast area is small and on the Saturday morning when the hotel was busy (guests were attending a Notre Dame College football game) we had to share our table. This may not suit some people but it provided us with an opportunity to meet a family from Atlanta who were travelling to the game... a plus for us!
All in all this hotel was pleasant though not luxurious. I should mention that trains are quite frequent during the night but I got used to them after the first night. It suited us well and we were able to visit Nappannee and Shipshewana to get a flavour of Amish culture. Amish Acres in the former and Menn Hoff in the latter proved to be very interesting tours. The countryside was very attractive particularly with the array of Autumn maple trees... A fabulous display of colour!

Room Tip: Maybe choose a room a little distance away from noisy hooting night time trains.

“A home away from home”

Every year during the fall, we make several trips to Notre Dame to attend football games. About 5 years ago, we discovered the Best Western Inn in Goshen, Indiana. What a wonderful, welcoming motel this is. The owner Scott, is quick to admit he has a wonderful and efficient staff, which is true. A few years back we were travelling with an elderly gentleman who had problems, and I cannot begin to tell you how helpful and understanding the staff and owner were. They could very easily have said "he's your problem" but that was not the case. In fact, this year when we arrived they asked after his health. How many motels have you stayed in that do that? We look forward to going there every fall, it is like coming home in the middle of the country. Now if they could only do something to improve the football games it would be wonderful.

Room Tip: We prefer first floor because it has easier access to the car, but we have stayed on the 2nd floor a...
