“Loved a few things, disappointed by a few things.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

There are some aspects of our stay that I loved, and some that I do not. I made our reservations over the phone and spoke with a lady named Whitney. I can't say enough about her. She was super friendly and helpful, and honestly made me feel super excited to come and spend time with my family here. She answered all of my questions and was just a wonderful person with a lot of great information. Upon arrival, the staff at the front desk were chipper and friendly. We had no problems checking in. We were on the Fourth floor, way at the end due to when I booked this was the only available room with 2 queen sized beds. It was a smoking room, and although we are not smokers I was okay with it because I was excited to stay at this hotel. When entering the room we were not hit with any offensive smell from previous smokers, in fact it smelled very clean. The room was spotless. Kids were super happy and couldn't wait to get down to the pool area. The pool area was smaller then what it seemed in the picture, but not a big deal. The fitness room was extremely crammed. 3 machines in one small room. I didn't like using treadmill as I didn't like working out so close to other people, so I didn't stay in that room long at all, which was kind of upsetting. After retiring to our room for the night my son and daughter both broke out with a rash and got very itchy and uncomfortable. After Midnight I had to take them downstairs to see if there was any benedryl in the suite shop. There was none, but I did ask them if they had any in the back. The lady working front desk brought back a box of allergy pills equivalent to what I needed. When I asked her how much it was she said it was nothing, and I am not sure if I caught it totally right but she said something about a magic box? Either way she was helpful and we appreciated it very much. Kids finally were able to get some sleep. The beds were the best thing about the visit. Absolutely comfortable! Breakfast the next morning was medicore. Nice selection, however the eggs and sausage were hardly warmed and not hot. The coffee and tea selections were nice. They had plenty of fruit, cereal, and bread choices. Breakfast this morning before we checked out was basically the same. The hot things, hardly warm. Almost forgot to mention the complimentary popcorn Friday night. The kids loved getting a bag and coming up to the room for some relaxing and tv time. Some of my major gripes concern the pool area. Kids went swimming again on Saturday and both broke out with some kind of rash again. I got in on this day, and it also did a number on my skin. No idea what the cause of this way, maybe the chemicals were off? Sign clearly says no children under 14 are allowed to be in, or swimming without an adult present. The staff did not do a good job at monitoring this at. There was many times that children were swimming without an adult present. This upset me greatly. Rules are there for a reason, and need to be followed. The hot tub was closed at one point, and when asked when it would reopen they said probably sometime in the afternoon the next day. I understand things come up, but we were disappointed that it got closed. My biggest complaint about that - it has a closed sign, but people were still going in there. Not once while my kids were swimming did anybody come by to check on things. Lack of towels was another concern. Overall, the visit was okay. Staff was great, but there are a few areas of staying in this hotel that can be worked on. This is the first time my family has been able to get a hotel room to relax in and have a good weekend away from our normal everyday lives. Wish it was a little bit better experience, but tried to make the best of it.

Room Tip: Be sure to get a room facing the front of the building. Backside is very noisy with the highway.

We appreciate your having taken the time to write a review for our hotel and for your positive comments.

We apologize for your concerns regarding the pool area and equipment. While we try diligently to monitor it, it is sometimes a challenge. To reduce future concerns, we are adding to staff to proactively address any issues. We did have to shut the hot tub down because someone discarded an item that resulted in it being inoperable, needing completely drained and refilled. The chemicals in the pool were checked twice during the day to ensure they met industry/health standards.

We are extremely excited to share our good news! The hotel will be undergoing an upgrade soon. It should be wonderful afterward!

We look forward to seeing you again! Have a very safe Winter!

“NEEDS UPDATING!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

The lobby of this hotel is great, staff was very helpful but it is beyond needing renovations. I read the other reviews here and wonder if maybe I just got an old room but it still needs mentioned. Hotel is in an ok area, close to freeway and restaurants. The hallways are dark and narrow with extremely odd access to the elevators. The rooms are just OUTDATED. Cheap laminate light faux wood thing screwed to the wall, mattresses slid all around and were super noisy (not the usual high and soft Hampton mattresses.) The overall appearance is fairly clean as far as the mattresses/carpets/bathtub (which is of course most important) BUT...my lap desk had sticky something on it in several places with a few food crumbs stuck to that and the chair was sticky with food crumbs on the seat as well. You definitely cannot sit at the desk and work, there is this cheap table (functioning as a desk) there that is too low for the chair. If you force the chair arms under the table when you try and pull the chair out the entire (very lightweight) table comes with it. You cant get the chair even close because of this. The small plastic holder in the bathroom where the soap and shampoo sit was in desperate need of wiping off( had a fair amount of dust/hairspray etc on it that was visible) The room was dusty and outdated (lamp base was very dusty...no wall lamps between the beds...just one big table lamp) Also no fridge and microwave option which I realize not all Hamptons have but more often than not it is available and in some even standard. The far corner of the room was completely bare (there would normally be some type of chair and a floor lamp there) and dark. Vey low quality towels etc, not at all soft and super scratchy but the tub/shower area were clean.
We travelled with a fairly large group and I felt the staff did a great job of keeping up with the large volume of people during the breakfast etc. They were helpful in every way from the front desk to the breakfast attendant and that should be noted. As I mentioned the overall appearance was clean where it mattered in the carpets/bathroom and mattresses but a little attention to detail as wiping things down and dusting would make a major improvement. With some updating this could be a great hotel!

“Great 2 1/2 Star Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Management gets the credit for making this hotel a gem and succeeds in putting resources into the right areas. The hotel is in a good area, with good restaurants and a great mall nearby. Registration was a breeze, and our request for adjoining rooms was honored. Both the rooms and common areas were very clean. We had a problem with maid service (she had entered the room and took the tip but didn't clean) which management handled quickly by apologizing and then asking how we would like the problem resolved. (We asked that the maid come up with clean towels. She came up very quickly. The front desk asked if there was anything else we needed for her to do while there.) The wirelesss Internet in the room was free and had a good signal. Both rooms had flat panel HD televisions with cable channels. The beds were comfy. Water was hot and the shower had good pressure. The breakfast was above average for the room price with fresh fruit, cereal, hot oatmeal, bagels, toast, waffle station, eggs and potatoes. I didn't miss bacon or sausage, but some guests may. The coffee was very good. Fresh popped popcorn at the front desk in the evenings was a nice touch, and the lobby pantry was convenient if a bit overpriced. A fire was kept burning in the fireplace for breakfast and in the evening. We didn't use the pool or hot tub but both looked clean and well maintained. I agree with another reviewer that the bath products were not the best, and the sheets and towels were lower-end quality, but these items are a good way to keep the price down. One of our rooms was a one-bedroom suite which I highly recommend for the extra charge. We had a kitchenette (stocked with pots, pans, dishes, and cutlery) that included a full size fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, and plenty of cabinet space. The suite also included a separate bedroom and a sitting room with sofa, three comfy chairs, and an ottoman. The bedroom had it's own large HDTV. An adjoining room made the weekend more like stayinng in an apartment and our large family felt right at home! It appears that the hotel will be renovating soon which should make the stay even more comfortable. I hope the price can stay reasonableto keep this hotel as an affordable option in the Fort Wayne area.

Room Tip: The one-bedroom suite is worth the extra charge. Adding an adjoining room, if possible, accommodate...

“quite night”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

I arrived Wednesday night after a long flied, the reception desk was ready for me and my room had the heat on, which feel good .The room was spotless, they put me in the rear because the front was noisy ,.the inn is off the major road .Took advantage of the pool and whirlpool. The pool was extra lengthy so it was easy to swim. The inn had no rooms but because I am a member of Hilton they put me in a very nice room. I would stay hear again. The staff was very friendly.

Room Tip: ask for the rear rooms

“Pretty average for a Hampton”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

The hotel itself was not bad. I would have liked to have a King bed per my preferences but the room was clean and the breakfast offered hot items. Had some trouble with card keys not working day to day and the toiletries were pretty low grade. The internet was really slow, my air card provided faster service on 3G. However, this was convenient to where I was working and there were plenty of good places to eat around. (see my review of Cork and Cleaver and of Lovely's) All of the equipment in the workout room worked and the pool and hot tub are inside which is convenient this time of the year. The only downside was all of the construction out on the main street Rt 3. Looked like it was a long process that was stalled mid construction. I actually never saw a crew but the 6 lane blvd was down to two most places. Construction is temporary though so don't count this hotel out on that.

Room Tip: Anything above the ground floor should be fine. There seemed to be a lot of traffic on the ground f...

Thank you for sharing your concerns about our property.

We have great news! Our hotel is adding an additional T-1 line to boost the internet connection and make it faster! The construction off of Lima Road should be completed within the month. It will be wonderful afterward and make traveling so much more expedient!

We look forward to seeing you again!
