“Great 2 1/2 Star Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Management gets the credit for making this hotel a gem and succeeds in putting resources into the right areas. The hotel is in a good area, with good restaurants and a great mall nearby. Registration was a breeze, and our request for adjoining rooms was honored. Both the rooms and common areas were very clean. We had a problem with maid service (she had entered the room and took the tip but didn't clean) which management handled quickly by apologizing and then asking how we would like the problem resolved. (We asked that the maid come up with clean towels. She came up very quickly. The front desk asked if there was anything else we needed for her to do while there.) The wirelesss Internet in the room was free and had a good signal. Both rooms had flat panel HD televisions with cable channels. The beds were comfy. Water was hot and the shower had good pressure. The breakfast was above average for the room price with fresh fruit, cereal, hot oatmeal, bagels, toast, waffle station, eggs and potatoes. I didn't miss bacon or sausage, but some guests may. The coffee was very good. Fresh popped popcorn at the front desk in the evenings was a nice touch, and the lobby pantry was convenient if a bit overpriced. A fire was kept burning in the fireplace for breakfast and in the evening. We didn't use the pool or hot tub but both looked clean and well maintained. I agree with another reviewer that the bath products were not the best, and the sheets and towels were lower-end quality, but these items are a good way to keep the price down. One of our rooms was a one-bedroom suite which I highly recommend for the extra charge. We had a kitchenette (stocked with pots, pans, dishes, and cutlery) that included a full size fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, and plenty of cabinet space. The suite also included a separate bedroom and a sitting room with sofa, three comfy chairs, and an ottoman. The bedroom had it's own large HDTV. An adjoining room made the weekend more like stayinng in an apartment and our large family felt right at home! It appears that the hotel will be renovating soon which should make the stay even more comfortable. I hope the price can stay reasonableto keep this hotel as an affordable option in the Fort Wayne area.

Room Tip: The one-bedroom suite is worth the extra charge. Adding an adjoining room, if possible, accommodate...

“quite night”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

I arrived Wednesday night after a long flied, the reception desk was ready for me and my room had the heat on, which feel good .The room was spotless, they put me in the rear because the front was noisy ,.the inn is off the major road .Took advantage of the pool and whirlpool. The pool was extra lengthy so it was easy to swim. The inn had no rooms but because I am a member of Hilton they put me in a very nice room. I would stay hear again. The staff was very friendly.

Room Tip: ask for the rear rooms

“Pretty average for a Hampton”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

The hotel itself was not bad. I would have liked to have a King bed per my preferences but the room was clean and the breakfast offered hot items. Had some trouble with card keys not working day to day and the toiletries were pretty low grade. The internet was really slow, my air card provided faster service on 3G. However, this was convenient to where I was working and there were plenty of good places to eat around. (see my review of Cork and Cleaver and of Lovely's) All of the equipment in the workout room worked and the pool and hot tub are inside which is convenient this time of the year. The only downside was all of the construction out on the main street Rt 3. Looked like it was a long process that was stalled mid construction. I actually never saw a crew but the 6 lane blvd was down to two most places. Construction is temporary though so don't count this hotel out on that.

Room Tip: Anything above the ground floor should be fine. There seemed to be a lot of traffic on the ground f...

Thank you for sharing your concerns about our property.

We have great news! Our hotel is adding an additional T-1 line to boost the internet connection and make it faster! The construction off of Lima Road should be completed within the month. It will be wonderful afterward and make traveling so much more expedient!

We look forward to seeing you again!

“Not very accessible, staff very questionable”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011

Arrived in pouring rain with my parents, so we parked under the overhang to unload my wheelchair. Apparently they forgot to put a ramp under the overhang to go up to the entrance. So I had to got out into the rain and dodge some deep puddles so I could use their ramp by the handicapped spots, which was ridiculous.

Our room was pretty nice, but the bedroom was difficult to get into, but it did work out okay.

When we were ready for breakfast the morning, we were greeted by the cleaning cart in front of our accessible room. They had to adjust the hanging bags so I could get by. Kind of annoying, so we told them we would eat and come back (ended up to be 25-30 minutes later), but the cart was STILL there and the 2 cleaning ladies were in the exact same spot as when we first left.

Not sure what they did all that time......also at breakfast and when we were about to leave, the staff pretty much ignored me.......I was first down the hallway and my parents were behind me, but they waited a good 2-3 seconds after I went by and said "have a good day" to my parents.

So, basically if you are in a wheelchair you do not want to stay here. Indiana, in general, seems not conducive to wheelchair accessibility. Luckily we only stayed that night.

Every other Hampton has been flawless, not this one. Not even close.

Thank you for your feedback!

We are disappointed that were not more accommodating to meet your needs. The hotel has a special project underway to address any ADA concerns that our guests may have. In addition, the staff meets each morning to talk about how to better help our guests and to be more sensitive to their needs. I will be certain to share your comments and to stress the importance of providing the best service possible to make your stay more pleasurable.

“Good Service and Breakfast”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2011

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They upgraded our room without hesitation and gave us a recommendation for a cab. The hotel itself is pretty average, its clean, but seems a bit older. Tiles were broken in the bathroom, linen from the 90s, etc. The breakfast is a nice plus but gets busy so get there early. Hotel was a bit out there too, more for highway travelers who need to get off and on the road fast.

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade to a suite if you didn't book it originally. They usually accommodate.

Thank you for taking the time to comment about our hotel.

We are excited to share that our hotel will be undergoing a refresh in early 2012 to include a Perfect Mix lobby and an enhanced exercise facility. It should be wonderful afterward!

We hope to see you again soon!
