Management gets the credit for making this hotel a gem and succeeds in putting resources into the right areas. The hotel is in a good area, with good restaurants and a great mall nearby. Registration was a breeze, and our request for adjoining rooms was honored. Both the rooms and common areas were very clean. We had a problem with maid service (she had entered the room and took the tip but didn't clean) which management handled quickly by apologizing and then asking how we would like the problem resolved. (We asked that the maid come up with clean towels. She came up very quickly. The front desk asked if there was anything else we needed for her to do while there.) The wirelesss Internet in the room was free and had a good signal. Both rooms had flat panel HD televisions with cable channels. The beds were comfy. Water was hot and the shower had good pressure. The breakfast was above average for the room price with fresh fruit, cereal, hot oatmeal, bagels, toast, waffle station, eggs and potatoes. I didn't miss bacon or sausage, but some guests may. The coffee was very good. Fresh popped popcorn at the front desk in the evenings was a nice touch, and the lobby pantry was convenient if a bit overpriced. A fire was kept burning in the fireplace for breakfast and in the evening. We didn't use the pool or hot tub but both looked clean and well maintained. I agree with another reviewer that the bath products were not the best, and the sheets and towels were lower-end quality, but these items are a good way to keep the price down. One of our rooms was a one-bedroom suite which I highly recommend for the extra charge. We had a kitchenette (stocked with pots, pans, dishes, and cutlery) that included a full size fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, and plenty of cabinet space. The suite also included a separate bedroom and a sitting room with sofa, three comfy chairs, and an ottoman. The bedroom had it's own large HDTV. An adjoining room made the weekend more like stayinng in an apartment and our large family felt right at home! It appears that the hotel will be renovating soon which should make the stay even more comfortable. I hope the price can stay reasonableto keep this hotel as an affordable option in the Fort Wayne area.
