I should have known from check in not to stay here! Female staff member not friendly or helpful at all. Requested adjoining rooms, were told there were none in smoking. Upon going to our rooms, found their was a door in one of the rooms that adjoined to the next! Either staff doesn't know their hotel or they just plain lied to us!
We had numerous issues with this hotel and the 2 rooms we had reserved. The a/c unit in our king room failed to adequately cool the room. Coffee makers in both rooms had not been emptied or cleaned in either room (wondered if the rooms had even been cleaned properly) , the TV stopped working in one room- when we called the front desk, they said turn it off and try again in an hour, we did and it still didn't work! The pool was to open at 7am but at 8am it was still closed and we had to ask them to open it. At breakfast we encountered spoiled milk, hard (old?) muffins, and apple juice that was more like water.
The doors to both rooms did not close behind you- you had to push them closed. With all of this the staff offered no help or anything to compensate us for all of our problems. We searched for a different hotel and couldn't cancel our second nights stay fast enough. The Hampton Inn North was FANTASTIC in helping us- we called, explained our problem, and they allowed us to check in 4 hrs early, with a discount due to our problems at Holiday Inn Express!!!!
I have stayed MANY times at various Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn Express and never had such a terrible experience as I did at this hotel. I highly recommend avoiding this hotel at ALL costs!!!!!!
