“Didn't like it at all”

The outside and lobby looked very nice. Check-in process went fine. We were given a non-smoking hallway. We walked in the room and the smell of smoke was terrible. We called and was told a bus boy would be up and give us keys to a different room. He never did show up, so we went down to the lobby and was given the key. We went to the next room. It was smaller, but appeared to be ok. We went into the bathroom. We noticed hair on the floor and the tub. Than we saw two wet, dirty towels still hanging on the back of the door. We called again. We couldn't be moved, but they would come and clean the room while we were out to dinner. When we came back, housekeeping had never come. We called again. We were given breakfast for an apology. We don't plan on returning.

“dated room, tight slots”

my husband and i stayed at belterra for one night on 02-03-2012. we hadn't been for a while but really enjoyed our last stay about a year ago. upon check in we requested a one king bed room. front desk said they were sold out and could not accommodate our request. we were given room 355 with two full beds. the room was very dated, old tv and the room itself was old. our view was of the roof, air handlers and other "things" you find on roofs. disappointed in our view and room type. last time we stayed we had a great view and a huge room. ate dinner at aquarium cafe and it was just ok. not a lot of variety. my husband had a spa treatment which he said was good. spent most of the evening in casino. slots very tight. casino very crowded and smoky. went to bed big loosers. we had fun though. would like to visit again if we could get a better room and rate....maybe during the week is better?? also visited hollywood and rising star, did better at both of those places.

Room Tip: ask for a room that does not overlook the roof

“great winter getaway”

My husband and I had a long weekend so drove to Belterra Casino. Terrific choice!!! It's a little of Vegas! In fact, rumor had it that Wynn Casino in Vegas also owns this.......anyway, the rooms are HUGE, plenty of room and we slept like babies. The Aquarium eatery has great food and the walls are made of aqarium-like atmosphere so real fish swim by as you eat. We had a great time.....lost money at the casino, but had a great time none the less.

“Resort Hotel Middle of No Where”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

Stayed here January 2012. The staff was courteous. but this resort hotel is a casino with a golf course the resort is 7 miles drive from the nearest village. The only thing I could fine to do was gamble (golf closed this time of year) I could only find one roulette wheel but lots of black jack and slot machines which I found to be very tight. We got a room with a king size bed or we could of had 2 queens for the same price. The bathroom very large but nothing special. No fridge in the room but clean and comfortable. The elevator is at one end of the hotel and some of the rooms can be a long walk away. Wednesday and Thursday is $10.95 buffet special, too bad for us as we done like long line ups To get in it was a 15 minutes wait, then it got worst from there, the buffet specials like meat - means you line up for 20 - 30 minutes to get a slice of roast beef. They have fresh fish cooked while you wait in another line-up 15 - 20 minutes. A short order cook flips fish on a electric flat grill (much like flipping burgers) and will tell you (only limited to his imagination) how good a chef he is at cooking fish while he covers the fish with a Cajun spice (only at your request) meanwhile a tip of $1 is expected for his banter. I didn't get any fish or beef as I did not want to line up, what I did eat was a cool cabbage roll and fried chicken, however the desert table seemed very Large, anyway the meal for us was a complete disaster. I spoke to a couple next to us in the dining room and they were local people, she told me since the casino started the $10.95 special Wed/Thur. buffet they are always busy, good move for the casino but not for over-night guests. There is a steak house a little expensive but would be better than lining up in the buffet. I found nothing of real interest in this hotel so I wouldn't go back.

Room Tip: Don't stay Wednesday or Thursday and ask for a room near the elevator if you don't like long...

“Time to spruce up the rooms!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

This is our fourth trip to Belterra and we noticed that the rooms need an upgrade. The beds were pristine and very clean but the carpet was very stained and the bathroom grout had turned brown in places and looked like mold was starting to grow. The furniture was scratched and looked well worn. We really like visiting Belterra and hope that the management starts refurbishing the rooms one floor at a time. As always, the service was excellent and very friendly. This is a great place to get away from it all and less than an hour from Cincinnati.

Room Tip: All rooms have a view of the Indiana countryside but ask for one near the elevators or you can walk...
